Forums - Sony - Bought a 60 gig, am I an idiot?

Not really. That's a good deal.

The only thing wrong is that you didn't get any more games.

Still A good buy.

You did the right thing, the 60gb console has the best BC and basically is the best console they made. I'm glad I got a 60gb near launch, they are definitely pound for pound the best of the lot. Although the 80gbs aren't bad either.

ill trade someone my 60 gb ps3 for an 80 gb one. i could care less about bc

I think I might call you a fool since you only wanted it for BC and absolutely nothing else it would seem. Y'know what system plays PS2 games really well? A PS2. And I'm fairly sure you can pick one up for cheaper than $450

I think the 80 gig bundle with $100 back is slightly a better deal. BC on the 80 gig keeps getting better and better. And it's not 78% compatible, it's 95%. See I can throw out numbers with no supporting detail too. There are some obscure PS2 games that have problems I'm sure, but it's been 100% for me so far. Check their website and see if you really need a 60 gig machine versus the 80 gig bc.

mm its ok but you should have bought the 80gigs bundle it is said that it doesnt have full backwards compatibility, but all the good games ran on it, why would you care for 100% BC when there are so many games that dont deserve it.. but your not an idiot still it is a great machine for the price dont worry

You are a very big idiot please sell it to me for $300

Just to let yall know, Im just a selective gamer. Ive had a 360 for 1&3/4 and have bought 3 games(GOW/Viva Piniata/Smackdown 07') in addition to the 3 bundle games I got. Ill be buying game 4(Too Human) soon. Im sure I will find good games down the line and any multiplats that are better on PS I will buy for PS.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

The PS3 is a great purchase. And the 60 gig is a good machine. But, I think your reasoning is a bit off. As a selective gamer, you could look at the backward compatibility list and see if the 20 or 30 games you may buy for the PS2 has problems. I have an 80 gig and have played 17 PS2 games and have had 0 issues. I am selective and I don't know if I'm going to purchase any more. You'll also notice that the list of issues is shrinking with each update. There may be a time when the 60 gig and the 80 gig are indestinguishable in backward compatability. I also think the value of the 60 gig will never explode. You can buy a PS2 used for $50. You can buy a 40 gig used for $250. So $300 plus the value of 20 gigs of hard drive space is what I figure your new PS3 is worth.
