resistance 2 is looking to be one of the most spectacular shooters this gen.

• improved grafix
• improved audio
• improved story
• 8 player online co-op (dedicated story)
• upto 60 player team based matches, including all the usual multiplayer matches

will be a day one purchase for many. i predict it will definatly eventually outsell resistance 1

Resistance 2 will be more hyped and most likely have more critical acclaim. Also remember that the userbase has grown quite a bit since the PS3's launch. I think this hearkens back to the Xbox with Halo 1 and 2. Halo 2 launched when there were a far greater number of shooters on the market, and it had competition from the largest game of the generation (San Andreas). And yet it outsold its prequel by 2 million.

The outcome here will be very similar. Resistance 2 could easily reach 4.5 million lifetime, if not more.

Probably. Sequels of succesful FPS usually do quite well, sometimes better then the original...

I think it will eventually, but the first Resistance had the benefit of being a good game among crap at PS3's release...it was pretty much the only game to play for a while...there's a lot more competition now, but eventually it'll pass.
