We will get hundred of threadsfrom Wii Fanboys;....Wii >>>>>> X360+PS3.

Everytime when a developper (Capcom, Ubisoft, etc) announce a new big title exclusive for PS3 and X360 Wii fanboys will react as ' OMG don't they see the Wii has more than 50% marketshare...;Sjeez those devs are so stupid don't they want to make money....Sjeez..

It will not really change that much though..

I don't know about you, but I haven't really seen much growth in the number of HD games on the horizon; in fact it seems like there has been quite a steady decline in the number of games on the lists of highly anticipated HD games that have been announced.

At the same time, there has been a fairly steady increase in the number of announced Wii games since it launched. When you factor in that most PSP and PS2 development is being killed off, the Wii’s massive popularity, and the fact that these developers are best suited to develop Wii (rather than HD) games I think it is fair to assume that the steady increase in Wii announcements will continue for quite a while.

This is especially because the most HD games are multiplatform.  Multiplatform games are not popular on forums. Games like Dead Space, Mirror's Edge and that Jetpack game from Capcom were games I saw the last months that are new (don't know when they are announced) but you really don't see many threads of them while they still look impressive.  If those games were exclusives to a console we had tens of threads of them...

How much will it sale first week?  Will it move much hardware? Etc...

Because of that I lose many new platform announcements. If only those games got the attention exclusives have;.

There will be a lot of damage control when that happens. And a lot of bragging too.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

More support I guess.

Absolutely nothing will happen. Generally speaking, third parties have already shown that they are dead set on ignoring the Wii, no matter how profitable it may be to develop for them.

You keep wishing real hard and maybe just maybe it will get to be true.

Don't misunderstand me.  I'd love to be proven wrong (and for the record, I await The Conduit with much enthusiasm).  It's just that I've seen third parties either ignore the Wii outright, or try to bury it in shovelware - for example, Ubisoft announced the new Prince of Persia for the PS3 and 360, even though by the point that announcement was made, the Wii had just surpassed the 360 in North America.  And then there's the empty promises - Valve, for example, has expressed interest in developing for the Wii as early as January 2007 as well as their distaste for the PS3, but the game score's still PS3 one, Wii nothing as far as they're concerned.  I know there's the lead time between development and release, but devs should have seen the writing on the wall early enough that we'd be hearing significant announcements by now.  I had believed that market circumstances would eventually dictate that they pay attention to Nintendo, but so far, that just hasn't been the case.

Super World Cup Fighter II: Championship 2010 Edition

sony will launch the ps3 slim not hd( two ps2 duct tape together) for 150$ with two dualshock controllers, 3 games (resistance 2, kill zone 2, mgs4 or gta4) one memory card of 50gb since it won't be in the ps3 slim, one headset and one year to xbl (you know to help microsoft) they will unite to destry the wii until wiini
god protect us all

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

No one will care? No, this site is too mature for that. /sarcasm

No, I predict many threads proclaiming this success, condescending threads about PS360 everywhere you turn around, Nintendo FUD, PS360 damage control, and many people not caring (i.e.: Me.)

We all know it's coming, it's not like it's gonna hit 50 percent and every developer is gonna say, "Okay, quit developing PS360 games, Wii only games now! I don't care if you're millions of dollars and two years into development, stop the project and work on the Wii!". The sad thing is that some people do believe this is what will happen.

I myself will just take a 1 week sabbatical from the site. That week is gonna be as bad as the E3 week, and I know I don't have the patience to deal with fifty million threads on the same subject, proclaiming the same stuff, and all the smugness on this site. Someone will revive the crow-eating thread, and any negative post about the Wii will get brought up, since people have no lives.

lol, way to kill the thread DMJ. Those statements are so bitter, I am now clinically depressed.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I predict the same thing will happen as it did when the first aircraft broke the sound barrier... there will be a lot of noise, but that will be about it.

EDIT: Just to be clear... I don't think the Wii really needs to achieve 50% market share to be successful.  The thing is a beast, and I'm guessing a lot of games publishers have teams working feverishly right now to get aboard the bandwagon.

How is no one caring mature? It would be an actual milestone which would definitly be something a note for just about everybody unless you were a fanboy of a different console.

Certaintly more of a milestone then 14.47 million in anycase.

I mean why is it that everybody cares when a baseball player hits his 500th HR? Sure it doesn't make much difference if it's 499 or even 501, and 500 is treated as bigger then 501 even. The 500 could be hit during a blowout and it wouldn't help your team at all... yet it'd still be big for you as a player according to everyone in baseball. Even fans of other teams would admit that.

Why cause it's a milestone. rounded off milesetones are seen as extra important in well... just culture. The thing that would be immature would be to try and ignore it.

Well mostly.  The late adopters also care less about things being high-tech and more powerfully specced... but i mean that goes against the PS3.

Wii is 5 mln. behind x360+ps3.
with 200k > x360+ps3 per week it will need 25 weeks or till the end of the year.
with 100k > x360+ps3 per week it will need almost 1 year.

Since 2009 Wii won`t have chance to outsell x360+ps3 in most weeks.

Till 2009,

PS3:
...
x360:
...

These games probably will boost sales.
What have Wii till the end of 2009? Only few games.

None of this games will boost sales. Even GTA4 did not boost sales. Wii will have obviously more than 50% marketshare till the end of the year.
