Ôkami was filled with japanese mythology and it didn't do well in Japan.

I think you will mostly be concerned that it is actually going to be quite a good game. whoops!
OT. I Kinda agree but mostly because of the game type. Diablo style games are quite huge in places like France.

I kind of thought that it was rubbish, and the previews have not been 100% positive

How Okami sold poorly in Japan still baffles me

I dont see how its much different than saying that Japanese prefer JRPGs, even though Europeans seem to be more open to other gametypes than the Japanese (from looking at sales of Western RPGs and Japanese RPGs in both places). |
Well because Europe is made up from about 50 separate countries.. each with their own history, myths, believes, languages and preferences...

I hope you know, that there just living about 24 million people in Scandinavia, who could care about Norse mythology. It's not an integral part of European history. |
Tell that to the French, Dutch, English, etc. who were raided by those bastards every summer for nearly 100 years. :D

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/
Europe is not US. Is a multiverse composed of different tradition, history, and so on. Stupid thread

Norse mythology's history extends through most of Northern Europe, originating in Scandinavia but spreading to Germany, France (Normans), Italy, (pesky Normans again), England, and so forth.
You may have heard of Hel, the place you go in Norse mythology, as most Christians developed their idea of hell from the Norse.
