I dont see how its much different than saying that Japanese prefer JRPGs, even though Europeans seem to be more open to other gametypes than the Japanese (from looking at sales of Western RPGs and Japanese RPGs in both places).

 

Well because Europe is made up from about 50 separate countries.. each with their own history, myths, believes, languages and preferences...
