I see it selling a little over what Lost Odyssey did when it came out. The RPG userbase is higher now but I don't see them all flocking to this game when Square Enix has games on the horizon.

Yeah, I see IU, TLR, and SO4 selling better than ToV just because of the Square-Enix label on the game cases.  Even Namco are only expecting the game to sell 500K WW.  Also, Namco aren't known by Western gamers for their RPGs, more for their fighting games.  S-E, on the other hand, are arguably on par with Bioware as the premier RPG developer/publisher among Western gamers.

1.81 million? Has any tales game sold that much yet haha. Goo. Well good luck achieving that haha. I mean there has only been on really popular Tales game outside of japan that we know of from our sales and that was Tales of Symphonia. Otherwise its pretty much had most of its sales in Japan. And we know 360 has limits on how much any of its titles can sell in Japan.

But I await to be surprised.

200k sales LTD for this game.

I think you could be right, this was by far one of the worst games i have ever seen, the demo on XBL was just really bad.  Now eternal Sonata had a great demo and the game looked great, and just look how bad that game sold.

This on the other hand if unforgivable fanboy jibberish. It's so far beyond where the average fanboy would go you should either be permabanned or made a mod for the sheer audacity of it.

How is not liking one odd looking cell shaded game "Fanboy gibberish".  When i liked another odd looking cell shaded looking game.  I just found Tales bad in comparsion to the Enternal Sonata demo.  I also found the CoD2 demo bad on XBL, but i better not say that, you might think its fanboy gibberish for some reason

Well sir, before I made my comments, I did a little research into your posting history.

I remembered getting into an argument with you way back when, and I also remember you saying something audacious about the Nintendo Wii. At that time I researched you and found you were a Sony fanboy, please don't take offense, I find all posters on this site can be classified as some sort of "fanboy" it's just an inconvinient truth.

So, I went into your posting history again, like I said, to see if any of your recent posts were pro 360. I found one.

I only played the 360 demo of the last MoH game and it was really good, the gameplay and the atmosphere was amazing. If they can continue with the great gameplay and get a right tone for the atmosphere then this could be a really great game.

However, I also found this post:

MS has you guys waiting just aslong for games, Splinter cell, Alan Wake, Huxley, Halo Wars.  These games have been touted for over two years now.  Plus whatever other games they show or announce then never bring to market.

Of course the phrase "you guys" stood out for me, so I went a little farther back, researching you(I won't reproduce the results here, as at time of said research, those posts went undocumented), and I saw a tale of someone who had been emboldened and embittered since the big E3 splitup where fanboys were tragically thrown into hardcore mode with the announcment of FFXIII and the bitter feelings that followed.

You're still as much of a Wii hating foeboy as ever, but now you've become diehard in your Sony comments.

So I made a presumption, of course.

First let me say this. There is no doubt that most things you, or I say is "fanboy gibberish." We're both fanboys. In fact, I've noticed your PSN tag in your sig, but not your 360 tag.

However, the two assertions you've made in this post raise the gibberish level to new heights. Let's examine them.

"I think you could be right, this was by far one of the worst games i have ever seen, the demo on XBL was just really badNow eternal Sonata had a great demo and the game looked great, and just look how bad that game sold."

Lets take the bolded part first, and remember we're operating under the assumptions that you are a Sony fanboy, and you are well aware that this title is a 360 exclusive.

"This was by far one of the worst games i have ever seen" Not "played" mind you, but seen. That statement impies two things if taken literally. Either you've never seen many games, or you've got bad tastes in them.

So, I'll assume you were embellishing for effect. I do that often as well.

Next, "eternal Sonata had a great demo" implies that you haven't actually played the game. It's average. However, that begs the question of why? Is it because you simply don't like RPGs, can't afford it, or choose not to purchase it at this time due to some unknown factor. You speak very positively about the game. Now lets assume you realize that soon it's getting a PS3 release. This only furthers my suspicion of your true motivations.

Now, referring to Rock_ons ludcrious prediction of 200,000 worldwide which he obviously posted for flamebait, you said:

"It sounds like the right thing to post in a thread asking about sales for this new Tales game."

You actually tried to flame me for having the audacity to call him on his flamebait fanboyism, as if his prediction was valid. This proves either one of two things. You are hoping this game will fail, while internally realizing that it won't fail as hard as that, or that you are simply ignorant of videogame sales in general and make vast absolute mispredictions. Of course there is always the possibility that you disagree with the man, and are simply sticking up for his rights, but I dismissed that instantly due to my pre-notions about you as a poster, and how agressive your response was to me.

Realistically, lets be honest here. I can't prove without a shadow of a doubt the motivations behind your actions, but I can prove beyond any reasonable doubt that the reasons you claim this game is "the worst game ever" and "will sell under 200,000 LTD" is sony fanboyism. More specifically, the game in question is a 360 exclusive, which automatically makes the game enemy number one to you. So, you've attacked it, and tried to flame me, simply because you thought you could get away with it. You thought I had no case to present. You thought wrong. You should have realized that with as much of this dribble as you post on these forums, somebody would catch on to your obvious and well known game that you try to run on 360 exclusives.

You want me to be honest here? I'm not certain you're being honest with us. Unless you indeed still maintain that ToV's demo is one of the worst you've ever seen, and it won't sell 200,000 copies, which is entirely your opinion, and right to say.

However, it is my right to give proper background and to question those comments.

Next time you address me, "which if you'll recall I asked you to never do again quite a long time ago" please do so in a more civil and less hostile manner. I'm really a friendly guy. I just don't like it when I get in court and you keep telling me "haha, you can't prove it" when it's obvious to everyone. I don't have to prove it. This isn't a court of law. I've let my opinion be known here. Most people will probably agree with it. That's as far as I need to take it. Thank you sir. Let this be the last word on the matter for all our sakes.

On a side note. My gamertag is Zenfoldor. Add me.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I'm seriously not into the JRPG thing...it's alway too cheesy for me...gimme good old D&D based original stuff over all that FF type stuff. I'm glad to see M$ spreading it wings, but jsut don't drop us...oooh...Mass Effect 2, Fallout...nvm!

So, I went into your posting history again, like I said, to see if any of your recent posts were pro 360. I found one.

LoL, you think i could give two shits if a game went to the 360 too.  You could take all the games and put them on the 360 and i would not care.

You're still as much of a Wii hating foeboy as ever, but now you've become diehard in your Sony comments.  You're right here, i hate the wii and everything it stands for.  And my comments have always been the same.

So I made a presumption, of course.

First let me say this. There is no doubt that most things you, or I say is "fanboy gibberish." We're both fanboys. In fact, I've noticed your PSN tag in your sig, but not your 360 tag.  I don't own a 360 but i play the 360 all the time, but when i made my gamertag i made it an offline one, not knowing how to make a normal one.  My account has about 1750 points.  I've also played oblivion for 95hours, beaten lego star wars complete saga, and a couple other games before i made my gamertag.

However, the two assertions you've made in this post raise the gibberish level to new heights. Let's examine them.

So, I'll assume you were embellishing for effect. I do that often as well.  Okay then, it was not the worst game, as i have played/seen a lot of games that are worse.  But it was still bad.

I have seen somebody play the 360 demo and i thought the demo was a very good.  I like some RPG's but not all, as i'm playing BoF2 on the GBA right now and i love it.  i dont plan on buying the game for the PS3  or the 360, it was a good demo, but from what i had read the game is 20hours long, but i would buy it from Blockbuster if it was on sale for under $20.

Now, referring to Rock_ons ludcrious prediction of 200,000 worldwide which he obviously posted for flamebait, you said:

Realistically, lets be honest here. You thought wrong. You should have realized that with as much of this dribble as you post on these forums, You must be talking about your posts. somebody would catch on to your obvious and well known game that you try to run on 360 exclusives. That must be why i own all the Halo games but don't own or have an xbox at my place.  The halo series(xbox exclusive) is one of my most favorite series of all time.  i have played the Story modes countless times on all levels of difficulty.  That must be why Oblivion is one of my most favorite games was 360 exclusive when i played the game and i never bought the PS3 version.  That must be why Bioshock is one of my most favorite games, was 360 exlcusive when i played and beat the game.

You want me to be honest here? I'm not certain you're being honest with us. Unless you indeed still maintain that ToV's demo is one of the worst you've ever seen, and it won't sell 200,000 copies, which is entirely your opinion, and right to say.

Next time you address me, "which if you'll recall I asked you to never do again quite a long time ago" i'll address whoever i want whenever i want on these boards. please do so in a more civil and less hostile manner. Less hostile? more civil?  Again you have no idea what is going on, i have no idea what goes on in your mind but it can't be healthy. I'm really a friendly guy. I just don't like it when I get in court and you keep telling me "haha, you can't prove it" You really need to pay attention to what people say, instead of trying to think eveyone is out to get you. when it's obvious to everyone. I don't have to prove it. This isn't a court of law. I've let my opinion be known here. Most people will probably agree with it. That's as far as I need to take it. Thank you sir. Yeah man. I've got a taste for everything RPG, JRPG, and with RPG elements, lol. I like my guy to improve from me doing stuff. My top game from E3 was Fallout 3, but one of my favorite games of all time is Tales of Symphonia for Gamecube, so this game is looking really good.

Well sir, you will find this news excellent indeed. You can get a free XBL account, dubbed silver. It costs you nothing. It allows you access to chat, messages, friends lists, game comparisons, DLC, and basically everything a pay account gets you except the ability to play games online, and videochat.

I'll assume that you played the demo for ToV at a friends house, since you need to have an active XBL account to download it, and it's relatively new on the DLC scene. You might not have gotten the full effect of the demo at your friends house. It's more of a single player game. Tell your friend to add me, however.

Not to mention that story based RPGs can't really inflict too much great character development on you during the course of a demo, but you knew that, having played it, of course.

As of now, I stand by my original posts, and there is much more that I am simply not willing to say. I trust the avid VGChartz user enough to read between the lines here.

Please, though, lets stop this arguing and get back on topic. This could degrade into a flame war, so I'm gonna say this is my last post on the subject, no matter what.

To say that TOV looks bad, and say ES was good, is a joke.
Tales of Vesperia is teh real deal. Looks awesome, and i dont even prefer to play action-rpgs.

infinite discovery will kill the sales of this tales game.

i dont expect the new tales to do well.
