Pah! Windwaker owns OoT and TP.

The worst thing they could do is, indeed, make another ''dark n realistic hardcore mature''-zelda.
If Nintendo doesn't change the formula at least a bit, it's going to be old-school in 5 years, and dead in 10 years.

^^^ This is what you get for blowing a rumor out of proportion
Chocobo brain damage!!! Here, drink this diet Coke..*runs*
Currently playing :
VC - Ogre Battle March of the Black QueenI think the worst thing will be ditching the 3rd person fighting style for 1st person. It will annoy me greatly. This doesnt mean I think MotionPlus should go unused, it should just be used tastefully. Like perhaps in boss battles. OH GAWD, i just had the best idea pop into my head: MotionPlus duel against SHADOW LINK...mmmm.
Also if fights are in 1:1 FPS it would suck if there wasnt a puzzle element to the fight also.

The quality is still there, but the world has become terribly shallow compared to other games. The worst thing that can happen is if the format is still honored. Zelda needs to start incorporating aspects of other games to gain some serious depth. There needs to be an actual story rather then a convenient excuse. There needs to be some role playing mechanics added. The world needs to become more interactive. Combat needs a drastic overhaul. Basically Zelda has become so formulaic it is not even a laughing matter. Enter the hero no back story just that he is chosen. His first order of business seems to be to visit a dungeon the goal to find a treasure that gives him a new power. Then he uses the new power to kill the boss to get a redundant item he needs to collect. Then he repeats the process twenty more times till he fights Gannon. Along the way you will find tired puzzles you were solving ten years ago, and will scour the landscape for heart pieces, and other such stupidity. What Zelda needs is to borrow some of the better aspects from Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fable, and even Assassins Creed. Incorporate an overall story with events, and some moral dilemma. Let Link have some customization, and just open up Hyrule in general. Let link effect the world he inhabits give him some other real goals. Finally flesh out a decent combat system let players change up how they are killing the monster. Let them try spells, and let link navigate the environment more freely. In other words let link jump, run, and climb. Anyway I already have four Zelda games that follow the exact same formula. There just is no reason to go through the same thing all over again. For once take the game off the rails, and make the game more dynamic. |
Nothing bad can happend to zelda it is just that godly.
Link to the Past is my favorite Zelda game; I would love to see some retro goodness get released as part of WiiWare. And what's this ridiculous obsession with "the main series"? It's OK to do endless spinoffs, but somehow "the main series" is like this golden calf that can only be done in a certain way. It doesn't make any sense!
Realistically, I'll probably be happy with whatever Miyamoto et al come up with. Twilight Princess was my least-favorite Zelda game, and it was still a very enjoyable experience.
End of 2008 totals: Wii 42m, 360 24m, PS3 18.5m (made Jan. 4, 2008)
In all honesty, whatever Nintendo wants to do with Zelda, they will do with Zelda. If your a real Zelda fanboy, you will buy whatever Nintendo decides the next Zelda is like.
