I don't think hardcore gamers around the world would appreciate Sony doing so poorly this generation. If Sony bows out of the console business, Microsoft will rip us all off via nickel-and-diming us to death for "necessary" addons, and Nintendo will put out nothing but gadgets.

Just by competing with MS and Nintendo, Sony is doing us all, as gamers, a HUGE favor. I applaud the improvements MS has made since the original XBox, but I would *never* want them to soundly defeat Sony. That would be *bad* for me, as a gamer. Real bad.

At the same time, I don't want the 360 to just drop off the radar either. Competition is good.

You have a weird understanding of what a favor is....
