Well YDL runs fine. It's killer on the HDD. but it's not that hard on the memory I dont beleive. One thing that makes me curious... is why Flash works better on linux than on the XMB. it's like the XMB is single threaded... :o But the XMB is a beta. It's not coming out till march. So I cant really smash it. 256mb memory is fine for anything but compresing 7z... and other massive compression things... (in a timely fassion) and doing graphics. (photoshop style graphics) As for the gameing... Well Linux has access to 256mb memory. It cant see the graphics card, and thus that 256 is basically gone. the PS3 has ALOT of potiental. Sony has announced fixes to most of my biggest complaints... (after they fixed my set of biggest complaints last time) I have never been this happy with a new 'investment' item. I bought 2 NDS expecting to have great online internet... etc etc. 6 months down the road. I felt ripped. Today. They gather dust. Much like the Wii. And I mean this seriously. What has been fixed on the Wii with recent patches? Have they enabled conectivity with the DS? the PS3 can talk to the PSP. Can you download demos for the DS on the Wii and play them on the DS? oh wait... you CANT CONNECT THEM. Can you with the PSP... duh. Can you use the DS as a wireless remote control w/ screen so you could be in a diffrent room and control your wii. Or use basic Wii functions? Let's hear it! no. OMG... you can on the PS3/PSP. Wow... *medocore yay* I have 2 DS that annoyed me becuase I expected more than 1/50 games to have single cartridge multiplayer. I bought the DS for it's 'connectivity' Well... Dont I feel screwed... for lack of better terms. The PSP. has everything the DS dosent. Can you buy and download full version PS1 games to the PSP... and play them wherever you go? Yes. My point is. the DS had alot of potential. I havent seen it... or heard about it. The PSP had alot of potential, but I beleived the bad press around it, and got a DS. (wich has alot of fun potential) I feel ripped by my DS. I wish I got a PSP. the PS3 and PSP have become almost as one. My point on that is the DS and Wii cant even hook together. Nintendo's stuff has ALOT of potential. But unfortunately they dont tap it. The DS is lacking games... well... games for people older than 16. I think GBA is a better handheld than the DS. The PSP... It's stupid UMD... is the only thing I dislike about it. And I want it mainly for a remote to my PS3/PS1 game player, and play demos on it, and buy the occasional game. Take it wherever I go... when I'm at a 'hot spot' I can get on the internet and check the weather and stuff... Cant do that with the DS. (unless you spend like 50$ on a special cartridge) I expected that from the DS. That is why I dont expect anything from the Wii. Becuase I know what to expect. Simple titles, that look adictive fun. it dosent matter if they are or not. My point about the PS3 is... it's wearing diapers right now. If you look at it any other way. You need to open your eyes. What is the Wii in? becuase it has forced protection that makes me sick just thinking about it. The lack of multi users blows monkey chunks. The lack of online communication... is the worst ever. The online play of the games... lol... heh... seriously... ... ... ok I cant stop laughing at that idea. The LACK of online games... This isnt as bad as the one above it. As long as Nintendo does NOT have online... you can always say 'it would have been nice.' I'm not saying the PS3 is the best selling console. I'm not saying the PS3 has the best stuff out there right now. But sony is dumping more money... in each aspect of the PS3... than I'd say nintendo is doing total for the Wii.

I own a psp and a ds, and by far the ds is the better choice. I thought when I bought my psp I would never touch my ds again. And that did not happen, there is like 3 or 4 games worth buying on the psp and that's about it(In my opinion). and still most of the games are just crappy versions of console games. At least the DS gives you stuff you simply can't have on a home console, that's the beauty of it. Who that is going to shell out 60 bucks for Burnout 5 still wants to shell out another 40 for Burnout Dominator? Every good PSP game Metal Gear, GTA, Tekken, Virtua Tennis, Syphon Filter, Ridge Racer, Tony Hawk and Burnout has a better console version out there, so seriuosly what's the point? My favorite PSP game is Tales of Eternia and I had to import it from Europe since they never even released it in the states. And the whole reason I bought it was to get that gorgeous Grand Turismo Portable game they showed, and where did that go? I don't even think the psp has single cartridge multiplayer at all. And really who cares if you can use the DS as a wirless remote control in another room, seriously is there any point to that? Secondly Nintendo has talked about using the ds to interact with the Wii and I'm sure you'll see alot more of it in the future, for nifty gameplay concept. I hardly think Sony will come up with anything intuitive, other then playing downloads.

Tales on the PSP? Well that settles it. +1 PSP. I'm not talking about PSP exclusive games. I'm talking about the way it connects to my PS3. It gives ALOT of options. sieanr - where and how I get my money is not for you to know. The question is where do I have enough money to have 2 1000$ puppies as well. And how am I bragging? I'm saying PS3 might outsell the Wii in 2007. That means more people bought it than a Wii. Also, just to ask you guys a question. When you guys talk about HDTV wont be standard untill 50%+ market penetration. Most houses have 2+ TVs. My wifes dad... has 2 TVs. I have 3 TVs. My father-in-law has 5. And his dad has 4. My dad has 5 TVs. My brother has 1. (1bedroom apartment) I'd say anything over 25% market saturation on HDTV would mean that a high portion of people with TVs have HDTV. I read somewhere that something like 55 or 60% of TV sales were HDTV.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, kinda getting off-topic since it started from something about the Wii-Cade to.....I dunno, I'm too lazy to scroll down. Anyways, I've heard about the Wii-Cade, it's nice. I've heard that HomeStar Runner had also part of its website have games made for like cursor and what-not? Dunno really, just heard.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
And yeah, Homestarrunner.com has a few Wii-friendly games now hehe. And Kwaad...about the Wii/DS connectivity thing...Nintendo's workin on it. They never promised any sort of date for that kind of connectivity... I think you overestimate the amount of people who want online gaming that badly. We don't all think the same Kwaad. The Wii is better suited for same-room gaming...it's a lot more fun that way. Online gameplay is still important though...but personally? I'd like some online games for the Wii, but for the most part, I got a Wii to play with my friends. Do you know what friends are Kwaad?

If I recall, that market penetration HDTV numbers is the percentage of homes that have at least 1 HDTV, NOT the percentage of HDTV's being used in homes.
Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.
