1) Cant blame them for being more successful than they imagined.

2) You take care of your main people first.  Nintendo is a Japanese company so they give the Japanese games weeks in advance.

3) Only issue that I agree with.  Casual gaming at this scale is a fad that will go in and out.  If Nintendo loses its devouted fans and casual gamers leave console gaming (as they have in the past and will do in the future), they will have actually shot themselves in the foot (not feet btw).

1) Supply issues. If Nintendo could meet demand, John Lucas's predictions would have come true.

Despite the fact that they are producing more consoles per month than any other in history? Its more of a demand issue than a supply issue.

2) Delaying launches in other regions. If Wii Fit and Super Smash Bros Brawl had a simultaneous launch, sales would have been much bigger.

They still can't make enough Wii Fits, if they had launched simultaneously the problem would have been even worse.

3) Pissing off hardcore gamers. The loyal Nintendo fans that were with them during the hard times of the N64 and GC aren't receiving any games. If this continues Nintendo will lose the Wii owners that actually took out Wii Sports from the optical drive.

Boohoo? I mean SSBB, MKWii, SMG, MP3 and LoZ:TP all just fucked off the hardcore right? Nintendo is rolling out its top franchises faster than ever, they just happen to also be rolling out a few casual games.

I would like to see instances where casuals left. Also Nintendo has been making plenty of great games for the core, and there are such things as third parties too. If they don't have a game done, then they don't have a game done. Don't expect them to release an unfinished game just so their fans don't complain this year, which they most likely will because the game is unfinished. ALso the number who will leave are part of the minority, and most Nintendo fans got over there being very little this year from Nintendo. I personally plan on buying around 10-20 titles for my wii in the second half of this year, and plenty more next year.

Did E3 satisfy the hardcore?

E3 isn't as big as it use to be, and Nintendo didn't have anything playable, which is the only time they will show games anymore. I'm fine with there not being much announced at E3, and I know many other Ninendo Fans are too. And I'm satisfied to know that there will be another Pikmin and they are already working on new Mario and Zelda titles.

Of all things in the history of the world that could be described as shooting yourself in the foot, Nintendo gaming division has to be the least likely candidate for that lable.

The things you mentioned are at least unimportant, and at best planned strategies that go far deeper than anything you or I could imagine.
