Forums - Sales - Wii at 46.5% marketshare.

PS 2 is interesting bcoz it does often sell 2nd or 3rd best in AU frequently. It's just that as developers slowly neglect PS2 builds in favour of Wii builds, which are different, i think theyre flogging a dead horse. Maybe 1 yr from now it will be more obvious.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

This thread being made every week was funny for a bit, but really isn't now.

It's such a waste of precious server space

According to the OP its been 27 days... so uh... wha?

This holiday season the Wii won't outsell the PS3 and 360 combined. The HD consoles have big titles coming up, and the Wii only has Animal Crossing and Wii Music. The 360 and perhaps the PS3 will get price cuts, the Wii won't.

Animal Crossing will probably sell more wiis than any game on the ps3 or 360.

Who needs Animal Crossing. It appears as though MK and Wii fit are all thats needed.

The last Animal Crossing (Wild World) sold more than 10Millions. What title likely to be bigger than that is coming out as a multiplat PS360 title this year, let alone exclusively to either platform?

This title combined with bigger stockpile than last year (they started earlier as shown by lower weekly average sales than production sales and had a bigger weekly production to stockpile from) AND increased production means that it is likely to sell on par with the others.

For reference, last year the PS360 outsold the Wii by less than 10% between the week ending the 17th of november 2007 and the week ending the 5th of january 2008 so better sales on one side due to price cuts and more games and better sales on the other due to increased supply and more games means it could go either way, but I think the Wii has a good chance to slightly edge them out.
