Anyone that thinks these tables are funny is no friend of gaming. It is not good for gaming or the industry and ultimately the consumer that 3rd party software publishers struggle to make money.
It just means they will be more inclined to chase the faster, cheaper buck. And if that means emulating Nintendo then the industry will contract in style and be all the worse for it in my opinion.

Why ? It's their fault not mine ?

And if you really care about vg than you must desire that this inudstry is financially viable.

That's funny, Nintendo was more profitable than the only industry they were operating in.

Shows how our hobby would've gone to hell if it wasn't for the Wii and DS.

Kowenicki: those who are imitating Nintendo aren't copying them, they just think they're copying them, by trying to make a quick buck. but in reality, they don't have a clue of what they are doing.

I know it's cliche, but you should really read Malstrom's ''Birdmen and the Casual Fallacy''. Nintendo is NOT destroying the industry. In fact, as the above graph showed us, they've just saved it.

What is funny is that if you add up the profit of company in black other than Nintendo you obtain a summ lower than Nintendo's profit alone.

What is even more funny is that if you add up all various profit/loss except Nintendo's one then you get a negative result.

I know that is a simplified operation but could make thought about the industry above all because Nintendo was the ONLY company to choose a different way ...

OMG...epic

Come on...

You know which companies choosed to launch a console above $300...

You know which companies raised the required budget to make a decent tittle...

You know which company choosed a unfriendly proccesor to work with...

that 3rd party software publishers struggle to make money.

Which 3rd party devs struggle? Let's have a look.

Take2: The period ends 31.03. What happened directly after that? Correct GTA4 was released. So they should be fine.

Midway sucks and deserve to loose money
Sega sucks and deserves to loose money
EA sucks even more and deserves to die.
Atari still exists?

So this seems to be more of a natural selection process which is a great thing of capitalism. Publishers with sucky games die. Companies with good games flourish. Its how it should be.

Didn't we know this already? Sure the numbers might have changed a little, but I'm sure something similar came out last year, with much the same result.

Interesting. I thought M$ revenue was higher than Sony's...I guess not. Only nintendo seems to be doing well nowadays. EA's taking a loss? No wonder their CEO suddenly "recognized the market leader lol"

Next EA wii title: "we sing". I guessed it first!

Ok.  So what is wrong with that (apart from the blu ray debacle - which i think is shameful)?  Would you prefer 3 manufacturers with identical boxes and identical interaction?

I wouldnt!

I just pointed out which ones are the responsibles for such situation... if you like the current situation, you can´t point at us for laughting...

They are the responsibles for this situation, they are not friends of gaming...
