You need one more factor for it to be considered the "perfect storm."

FFXIII timed exclusivity + PS3 price drop + MS dropping support of Xbox 360 in less than 12 months announcement = Perfect Storm

ff13 release in japan will see huge sales, very huge.

im hoping for english subs in japan release.

either way ps3 version is only version that will be how square intended it to be.

i will be buying the ps3 version just as majority of gamers will be doing, i predict game to be out in the west in 2010

If they're not starting the localization until after the PS3 version is done then they might as well be released simultaneously.

It isn't timed exclusive, it's just that the XB360 version may not be finished before the localisation.
Anyway, it's exactly what they ever said: japanese PS3 release, then PS3 localisation then XB360 port. But some people like to live in fantasies. What is reassuring, is that it seems they won't delay the PS3 localised versions, so that's a good thing.

I also see that the damage control has already started, from the people that wanted hard to believe SE said sth they never said ("available at launch on XB360 in NA and Europe", they understand "available simultaneously with PS3 on XB360 ...", instead of "available on XB360 ...").

I think they will find more problems than they think when porting the game.After all a easy to port game as UT3 running in the UE3 has taken nearly 7 months to develop on the 360 ...doubt they will spend so much with FFXIII localization.

IGN and 1up already confirmed and reconfirmed that they are day and date in the US and EU and why are you posting something from July 14th.

At first I figured all this was hearsay, and that it was still coming simultaneously in NA and PAL on PS3/360, but the fact that square is letting this rumor go makes me think there is a pretty good chance the PS3 version will be coming first. Probably not by too long, though. I'd guess less than 6 months.

What we know so far is that the game is ONLY coming out on the PS3 in Japan.

That the game is coming out at the same time on both the PS3\Xbox 360 in Europe and US markets.

That is ALL we know, that is ALL Square-Enix have said. Anything else is just made up rubbish at this point in an attempt for websites to get more hits by inventing news - distorting quotes from Square-Enix.

Who knows, it might not even every come out...we don't know anything and its unlikely we will for at least 6 months.
