i think kojima won't make another metal gear until he gets confirmation that a bigger storage medium can be used on the ps3. that 400gb blu ray may have piqued his interest, so he's out saying all sorts of garbage like this to tease us :D

but for him, even 400gb might just seem like 'meh, i want 1 terabyte'

Raiden's story is also over for the most part following MGS4. He'll probably spend the rest of his life in relative domestic normalcy with Rose and his boy Jack, barring any other plot twists in which he runs away -again- despite now having every reason to live and no reason to abandon his family.

At the end of MGS4, his head and spinal column were transplanted from his armless, essentially destroyed cyborg ninja body into a more human artificial body seen in the game's conclusion that is undoubtedly less cyborg-y and less ninja-y and most likely doesn't have the same combat rating as the cyborg ninja body.

As long as it's not about Akiba as some have guessed, the series will probably see an entirely new protagonist and it probably won't be handled directly by Kojima, but to his MG universe successor.

I could potentially see Kojima going back on board the MG dev team for the next game as producer/director if his next project isn't a commercial success.

believe me, there will never be another mgs creator apart from kojima as long as he's alive. when he said he wouldn't direct mgs3, death threats were sent to the new guy announced and he was forced to come back. fans will not allow their sacred mgs to be handled by someone else.

Regardless of whether Kojima is actively involved in the next Metal Gear game, his name will still be on the final product since he created the franchise.

But Kojima went on record as saying the reason he joined the MGS3 development team in progress was to put them back on track since they were having difficulties. It was not due to being strong-armed by psycho death threats.
