Forums - Sony - A Positive Aspect of the PSP Game Drought

MontanaHatchet said:
Honestly, how many successful third party games have we seen on the PSP in 2008? Or even 2007?

Just to give you a couple of good selling game examples ;) :

Monster Hunter Freedom 2/2G

Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7

Star Wars Battlefront : Renegade Squadron

God of War : Chains of Olympus

Fifa 08

Madden 08

Sonic Rivals 2

WWE Smackdown vs Raw 08

Pro Evolution Soccer 08

Ratchet & Clank : Size Matters

Final Fantasy Tactics WotL

The Simpsons Game

Patapon

Sega Genesis Collection

Mortal Kombat : Unchained

DBZ : Shin Budokai 2

MPO+

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes

Ghost Rider

300

Star Ocean 1/2

The Warriors

2 FF games

Lego Indiana Jones

Hot Shot Golf 2

All of these games made or will make soon a pretty nice profit and there are plenty more other games that I could have enlist for the 07/08 period which will make a nice profit for the developers , so I would say that there are plenty of examples that other publishers could folow to make some money from their PSP games ;)

And why is this draught good for me ? Well because finally I can have a break and visit thge old library . As I mentioned before there are at least 10 ( but I could easily count 20 ) games that I want from the allready released ones so this time will let me catch up with some old most-wanteds ;)

The missing releases are bad and never good. Now that I've grown tired of Disgaea(FINALLY!!!), I'm having a bit of a gaping hole with my PSP.

Well I recomend you to go and look into the older library ... there are some trully good gams that where released and didnt got the attention they deserved :(

Will do. Maybe this is just the effect of growing tired of an RPG that was so addicting. I tried Disgaea 2 on PS2 and I can't sink much hours in it. Not to mention the stages in Item world has loading times :S

I know what you mean . When I play more RPGs from the same series I can never play a sequel as long as I did with the original ...

There are more than enough games for me. So far this summer hot shot golf2, Space Invaders Extreme and Secret Agent Clank have come out. All 3 look good. There are also about 30 old games that are cheaper that I want to buy.

The only thing keeping me from purchasing more psp games is that so many start at $40 and take so long to come down in price. I can get a year old ps3 game for $40 or a 6 month old PC game for that price, I am not going to pay $40 for a new psp game unless I know I will like it (GoW, CC:FF7). So Secret Agent Clank, I will see you in 12 to 18 months when you come down to a resonable price.
