Forums - Nintendo - Why do people dislike SSE?

The only thing that REALLY sucks about SSE is that you have to collect trophies in it by getting randomly appearing trophy-stands. I was camping in the Petey Piranha fight for like minutes and the damn thing didn't appear! Any tips anyone? Thanks.

Just put a sticker on the character you're using's trophy that increases trophy stand drops. Also play the boss battle at Normal level or higher. Trophy stands appear more often on higher levels.

I thought the SSE was fine. I wasn't expecting much from it anyway. The cutscenes were awesome though.

SSE made Smash for me.

I was really looking forward to the standard brawls, but we play it but no more than we were playing melee.

SSE was fun, the story was cute/entertaining, the platforming was alright, the brawling aspect was pretty good.

It's like getting 3 games in one.

A comic fighting game
A brawler/platformer
A time trial/challenge game

Add in level editor and online play and I really don't see how anyone can complain if the like comic fighters and brawlers.

If your not a fan those genres then why did you buy it?
It would be like me saying MGS4 sucks. I don't like stealth games. I don't like many realistic action games. Why the hell would anyone care about my opinion then. So I keep it to my self. (The game is really pretty though.)

I remember paying $65 for Final Fight on SNES, SSE alone is worth more than that.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

SSE was all right. I for one really enjoyed seeing some team ups that I would never thought. Samus and Pikachu??? Lucario , MetaKnight, and Snake? Seeing in them those cutscenes was really nice to see. Fox and DIddy Kong. King Dedede with Luigi and Wario. I enjoyed them because you really never saw these characters working together. Too bad there was no Sonic and Mario cut -scene. :( Good work Nintendo.

I liked it, the mode was a fun way to unlock most of the characters.

I had the exact same thoughts when playing SSE. The only point I got bored was right towards the end in the great maze, by that point it was starting to feel very repetitive. But on the whole I enjoyed watching the cutscenes and playing through the levels.

I`m enjoying the SSE, but as many members have commented, the controls especially the jumping simply don`t translate well and it is a tad repititive. Having said I still find it 'fun' and thats all I really want from this mode.

I thought it was just a lazy extra to try and add content to the game.

Wolf wasn't in the main story ;-;

I liked SSE a lot, but like some others said earlier on in the friend, the trophy stand thing sucks.

I like the SSE, except for the Great Maze.
The cutscenes were beautiful.
