Forums - Sony - Red Alert!!! - PS3 'very exotic and tough to develop for'

Now we're back to this "hard to develop for" crap

I think somebody should tell them it's 2008 and not 2006, because other developers are making them look silly

Edit: "and our engine really at the time wasn't designed for PS" well there you go, that's a better answer

And you've been here for 42 posts so you have the right to make claims like these...give me a break.

And what happens every time and these 2-13 posts guys pop up and bash at people with 4.000 posts?

Wowsers whats all with the negative talk at the OP, he's just reporting some facts to you!!!

Most people here just say that there's nothing wrong with developing on the PS3, now someone has come out and said it (an actual developer) and you all get touchy!!!

...Can't win!

who cares.....thats not stopping me from getting a PS3

I thought you already had one!? You certainly talk like you own one!

Don't ban him, just ask a mod to change the title. This looks like EA is saying the PS3 is more powerful, it's just a platform they don't know how to develop for.

I have no problems with that. Get smarter developers (Insomniac says hello), and give me better games then any other console can deliver.

Thanks for posting this positive news about the PS3! And people think you are a 360 fanboy... I don't get it.

It's not a surprise.  It's pretty widely accepted that the PS3 is the hardest console to develop for this generation.

Still, this is EA we're talking about.  The favored pasttime among their developers is probably sticking forks into toasters while watching Sponge Bob.

i think what this means is that they made this specific engine for 360/pc.

and will mabey later on bring it to ps3

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

This news goes to show that those who have a decent handle on PS3 development have been able to develop visually higher quality games (such as the recent Soul Calibur IV) than it's multi-platform counterpart. And being and "exotic" system to develop for implies the potential of the console itself for the long run. Maybe the "10 year" lifespan of the PS3 might have more validity.

No it doesn't, where's your reasoning for saying that?

Basides, in an RTS the CPU is the main problem and I believe the way in which an RTS does stuff is going to be much more complicated to get going smoothly (lots of different AI stuff happening at the same time) on the PS3 due to the way it handles stuff...

Have a look on Wikipedia on the "Cell" and you'll find out a lot :)
