amp316 said: It's a very good game but every time I started comparing it to the OoT I found myself not liking it as much. Unfortunately those comparisons have to be made. I found the side quests in OoT much more interesting and fun. The ending to OoT is probably my favorite in video game history so that can't be equaled to me either. I think that the "problem" with this game if you look at it as a problem is that not much has changed for a while in the Zelda series. They should try something drastically different. What exactly they should do I don't know but it is not my job to think up these things. I know that this would turn off a lot of fans but keep things fresh.
On a side note: I enjoyed Okami more than the Twilight Princess. For all of the similarities between the two there a lot of things in Okami that I have not ever seen. The Celestial Brush is brilliant and I like the idea that you are bringing life to an entire world instead of just leaving a trail of corpses behind you. I like that too, but I thought that the approach in Okami was different and exciting. Anyone that's a Zelda fan should definitely check it out. |
Agree. The main "problem" with TP is that it was conceived to be a "120% OoT".
It is a very polished game but lack for the most part any substantial surprise and the overworld was too empity.
However I disagree when Shams says that Okami is superior in every way to TP because the dungeon design in it is the best in the Zelda 3D serie and thus best ever.
The bosses are all epic but many of them were to easy to beat and ,again, not so fresh ideas ( with some exception like the huge skeleton.
Epona improved mechanic was a nice addition but I felt the wolf mechanic that was the basis of the game underperformed compared to other past Zelda mechanics.
All in all the bigger advantage of Okami against TP is that the former is a more fresh experience.
Console Zeldas need a major revolution/evolution in th same way of the recent PH.
