Consolidation for the betterment of an industry happens all the time. Look at cell phone companies or sattellite radio.

If anything I think M$ would try to merge with Nintendo. I wouldnt mind that. Of course Nintendo would have practically all control over it.
But Sony and M$ merging. Never.
i agree with most sony and microsoft will never do it. but now according to sources and what was played around with at E3. a nintendo/ microsoft merger with nintendo controlling the majority of it is a big possibility.

Can you elaborate on this? I hadn't heard anything about that.

Nintendo got Sony into the gaming business in the first place and then screwed them over. Rather than pissing away all of that work, Sony developed the PS1. I'm not so sure that Sony would have tried otherwise. |
?You. do. know. the entire. story? right?
Anyways never happen. I think it's clear from last E3 MS doesn't consider the Wii a threat to their target demographic. While they are working with a bit of co opting the "causual" gamer. It clearly doesn't look like a focus of their. While Sony on the other hand. Well they are butting heads over each other for the same girl. While I could see MS making a truce with Nintendo I could not see Sony doing the same considering there history.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
I don't think so since no company in the past merged with another company to compete Nintendo and Sega.
Theres about as much cahance of Sony and MS merging as their is of Nintendo releasing a Super Wii tomorrow.
I want to know more about this MS/Nintendo partnership some are hinting at.

Microsoft started making consoles to ruin Sony's seemingly huge monopoly they had, I doubt they'd merge. Microsoft has made like 3 DS games though, so if anyone were to merge it would be those two.
