1. How much time must elapse when  a thread considered dead?

2. If someone brings back old threads, can they be banned?

I'm so bumping this thread is 6 months.

Bumping old threads is spam. I wonder what the mods consider to be thread necromancy? 3 month since last post on thread? Does it depend on the thread?

I bet Rock_on wants to bring the toss your salad thread back... xD

Whats wrong with bumping old threads? That 'vgc user levels' thread is getting a bump as soon as i hit 2000 posts

I brought back on old thread that burned a lot of people saying how 360 would go back to outselling PS3 after the holidays, but it was quickly locked.

I think as long you don't bring it back to rub things in or you add nothing to a dead conversation then it is fine.

It varies, but generally after a week, don't post in a thread unless you have something new and substantial to add to it.
