lets say u have both systems..

if the ps3 version has a bad port,

the 360 version looks better,

the 360 version gets achievements,

the 360 version has better online,

the 360 version has a bigger install base,

and their company buys exclusive content 4 their version!!

Which version r u seriousley going 2 get?!? 

 

(then the developers try and act like they have no clue why the 360 version sells more than the ps3 version)

Sales really aren't that complicated. The 360 version sells better in the Americas because it has larger mainstream appeal and larger brand appeal with its buyers. Tied in of course with a larger install base.

While in Europe/Other generally PS3 versions sell better because PS3 has more mainstream and brand appeal and close enough install base. Trust me your majority buyer doesn't look at all of that. Core gamers are plentiful but even most of them don't look at all these things as much as we do... or if they do think it matters haha.

Major multiplatform title to major multiplatform title the ratio's have been in the PS3's favor however the total numbers are usually in Xbox360's favor, the result would obviously be the install bases size and the similarity in what they are willing to buy.

As for which a person would buy - that would depend on the person buying and no one here.
