Kind of. It happens, but not THAT often. It never happens in my store when I'm around because I completely tear the 40gig down to customers. I hate the fact that Sony took out one of the PS3's most prized key features as well as a major selling point. Even I give Sony no slack for that move. It was not worth taking out to simply lower the price tag for the cheap.

That comment was more aimed for 360 not Wii. I say "Prematurely" becuz i see many Kno Nothing people who just want the "Next Big Thing" and are following the herd.

i think the real reason is because alot more people have live than psn when i was buying my xbox thats all i really thought about becasue i know alotttttttttt of people with live and only a few with psn

OP: Wow so 360 is double the price and it sells at a similar rate as the PS3. PS3 is pretty pathetic then. Hey by your standard its the cheapest console if you include a blu ray for the Wii. So why is PS3 still in last placce?

Also, technically, since you are throwing everythign including the kitchen sink in to the 360 price, shouldn't you include the price of upgrading the person's DVD collection to Blu-Ray disks, since the blu-ray player is pointless without blu-ray movies to play?

The entire OP is mostly a straw-man. It's easy to marginalize one side of the argument when you don't have someone representing the opposite view.

What are u babbling about? I think alot of u commenting on my post are severly brain damaged becuz when in that whole converstation did I mis represent either the PS3 or Xbox360.

I simply told it how it was. And in actuality the customer was simply eavesdropping on the convo me and my friend were having and made judgement apon that. And for future reference when ever a customer does ask me which is better I give full work on pros and cons of all the systems. And I also usually get another employee to give the person a different spin seeing as some will try to say my reasoning is "WARPED". Yet no one can deny and say I was not telling the TRUTH. If the person says they are not trying to spend a heap of money and dont care for all the extra doo dads, I elliminate the PS3 from the choice list. So I kno I am fair when It comes to explaining the ups and downs of gaming.

And no where in my OP did I say anything as Fanboyish as "PSY ROCKS! BUY THAT!"....

No the 360 doesnt sell better than the PS3. The PS3 is behind simply becuz of the head start 360 had. And no, using Wii as proof that PS3 should be selling just as good is not a valid point to make so dont even. the PS3 is selling better than the 360 since the begining of this Year. It is slowly but surely gaining on it. The real question is y is something that was out for a whole year before the competition pailing in comparison to their sales?

See.....This is exactly what I was talking about, ignorant and oblivious.

And the argument is OBVIOUSLY not one sided, that would entail I was talking to myself (I stopped that yrs ago). My friend represented 360 in that instance, he just did it pretty poorly. Even If I let my co worker rep the other side , they cant out Wit me anyway and they know it. The simple truth is there is little to validate the purchase in most consumers eyes and the only thing steering them to it is the PS3's enitial price tag...

 1.) The customer STARTED the conversation, so obviously they were right there, intently listening to your reasoning, which in effect was aimed at them as well

2.) 50% Opinion.  I am sure the vast majority of 360 owners, and people who like FPS will call Halo 3 anything but mediocre

3.) Again, 100% opinion.  If the consumer LIKES those particular games, and NOT the exclusives on another system, then OK, but again, opinion

4.) This whole section is an insult to any one's intelligence.  Does the user care about Blu-Ray? If not then you can't add "200" to "Match" the Blu-Ray player.  Do they own or have interest PS2 games?  How much extra to the PS3 cost to add that functionality?  The person can't run a LAN cable?  And you are piecemealing this thing from an arcade 360, why not get the higher end boxes?

5.) Future proof?  I think most in the industry would agree that the real future is in Digital Download Distribution, not Blu-Ray. 

So yes, you did misrepresent both of them through opinion and cherry picking.
