I mean, ask youself honestly, who do you think is gonna still be here in like 5 years, the PS3 or 360?

I always like this one. Well, if the trend follows the historical norm, it'll be PS4 and 720. But, Ok, I get ya, this gen the overpriced systems plan on a 10 year lifespan.
Even at that, my 360 will still be in my entertainment center, it won't vanish or anything. And enough games are out on it right now, to keep me very happy until the next gen comes along.
Not that there's anything wrong with the PS3. Maybe it only having 1 exclusive I really want is a factor for me personally. (I have to say, Warhawk looks sweet) But don't tell me I got my 360 because I don't know anything.

Thank you kind sir for proving that the average consumer still doesnt know what hes talking about yet again.....
xbox was out for what, all but 4-5 years before it caught the swift AXE! Xbox had begun to loose support before the war was even over, same with the cube. The second the 360 came out support for the prior came to a screeching halt. The Xbox never even had a chance to accumalate a selection of games that could rival the titan that was PS2. The PS2 on the other hand is still going relatively strong seeing as in certain areas it is outselling THE NEXT GEN CONSOLES! The reason y many dont see this becuz they dont put them in the reports anymore cuz society has moved on. The PS2 is going on its 8th-9th yr with little resistance. Is believing the PS3 will do the same that hard?
And I see where u are going with ur second statement which is completely valid. But what I am saying is .....
PS3=10 year cycle($600)
Xbox360=4-5 yr cycle($350)
Xbox720=4-5 yr cycle($400?)
THe NOW-
PS3=superior hardware yet inferior library for right now
360=superior library yet inferior(REALLY) hardware outdated even now.
The THEN-
PS3=current gen hardware and vastly superior library by the time of 720's conception
720=stable(if not superior)hardware but inferior library
Total Cost of PS3 in a 10yr plan=600
Total Cost of 360/720 in a 10 yr life span=750?????
Id rather pay now than later....
