Killzone 2, Resistance, Socom: Confrontation, MAG, and now...Hardware 2? What the f**k is up with all these shooters?

If I wanted shooters I would have bought a 360. The new announcement of hardware 2 by London studios is taking this shooter extravaganza much to far.

It is clear that Sony has forgotten it's roots and is trying to duplicate the success the 360 has had by making an endless amount of shooters.

What is even more disturbing about this announcement is that Getaway 3 was canned over this newly announced game which I thought looked much more promising. Nice job f**king up your reputation Sony!

Edit: My mistake, Hardware 2 is a twisted metal type of game which is really dumb because twisted metal is already in production so Sony is still really stupid.

yeah they are announcing alot of shooters they know that they sell well thats why

Infamous. LBP. etc. Jusd because there are more shooters doesn't mean less of everything else.

Well in the grand scheme of things, the more shooters there are, it feels like there's less of the other games. Still, don't count out the Fat Princess, lol.

Though I totally agree that there are other games that aren't shooters. With that, Sony needs to pick up their dropped ball and start securing some JRPG's from the 360.

They know Japan belongs to the Wii but they'll definitely be in 2nd as the 360 can't touch them there. In Europe they're beating the far cheaper 360 so it seems secure as well. NA is where the battle is*. They've had the momentum as of late but they want to keep it rolling and ensure MS doesn't fight back. And FPS are hot right now so the western crowd will eat it up.

My only problem is with the recent obsession at overcrowding the multiplayer arena. R2 is doing 60 players IIRC. MAG says 256. Hardware 2 wants 50 vs. 50 or 100 man FFA.

Call me outdated but I like the intimacy of a smaller 2v2 or 4v4. When you know everyone else playing at the moment and communicate well with them. I've spent hundreds of hours playing Halo 2 in such smaller settings and I hope we at least have the option to keep smaller team matches going.

*Edit - I meant the battle with the 360 is more heated in NA.  Others seems to be where the hot battle for Wii vs. PS3 will end up.

Resistance 2 is the bestone in the list. Sony is trying to become a failure like the 360.

It is kinda strange that they would design the PS3 and it's lineup to be just like last gen's Xbox.  It's like when Coca-Cola became New Coke.

I really hope they get their acts together.  I kinda like all three manufacturers.

If it makes you feel any better, Killzone and SOCOM will suck just like its predecessors.
