I bought FFIII for the DS, but got bored with it. I want to get this game, but I am afraid it might be too difficult. Is it really that difficult?

As I've been saying, I don't find it difficult at all and, I imagine, if you're accustomed to all the usual JRPG tropes (and especially the FF-centric ones) you shouldn't run into too many problems.

It's also based on a far, far better game than FFIIIDS so don't let that stop you from taking the plunge.

He's right. Although it does get tough later on, the difficulty doesn't come from poor design choices like it does with III (what's with the lack of save points?). And as the review says, if you don't run too often, you'll almost never have to grind. Just pay close attention to elemental weaknesses, and make good use of your abilities.

@exindguy: well more power to you then. Kain honestly wasn't that bad, I just never pictured him as having such a deep voice, so the first time it came as a bit of a surprise.

I still think Cid and Rosa need to die, though.

I probably wont buy it.

Whew, and here I thought it was just me....though I understand much of the history behind many of the games, I have not played most of the best games of the past (had a very sheltered childhood lol). I have heard that some of the best FF games have been on the SNES so I bought the FFIII remake for the DS thinking it would be a good idea but I lost much of my interest in that game later on and just gave up. I wanted to play FFIV but the fear of it being too difficult for me makes me not wanting to risk buying the game only to not play it. But I guess if I just grind my way through the game and just level up continuously, it might be alright.

I am guessing though that sleeping in the inn won't heal your characters, would they?

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Yeah man, FFIII was dissapointing, this game "looks" a thousand times better, lol, and I knew FFIII looked "meh" when I bought it, so you know this is a must buy for me.

I've also beaten 3, 6,7,8,9,10,X-2, and 12, but never 4. This looks like a difinitive version of a masterpiece, reimagined as a current-gen AAA(no expense spared) remake.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
