Mario Kart Wii and WiiFit will be huge do not count them out.

And yes Resistance, and Gears should be up there, I am really curious to see if Gears 2 will do as well as the first. The first one had little competition, it was really the first REALLY good 7th gen game, not there are a million other FPS games on the 360...



End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

1. Gears 2. This game will simply have an amazing first week. I expect it to sell 3-4M through the holiday season.

2. Resistance 2. The Ps3 doesn't really have anything that could sell close to this for the holiday season.

3. Wii Fit. This game will have huge sales. Sure, AC:CF will sell a lot, but it has half the time. Considering a probably lower peak of sales, and a very big change of supply issues, I wouldn't even put AC:CF in second place. As a matter of fact, Wii Music could sell fairly even with AC:CF, so it could very easily fall out of Wii's top 3.

4. GH:WT

5. Hmm, tough one. Can Wii Fit sell 3.5M through the holiday seasons? I'll say yes. I believe the current production is 300K/Week. Stockpilling 50K/week for an estimated 12 weeks, gives 600K. Then 300K/Week for 12 weeks, gives 4.2M. I believe Wii Fit will sell out, so I'll put it above Gears 2.

Since Animal Crossing doesn't have Wii Speak bundled, it shouldn't be supplied constrained but this is Christmas so... I don't know if they will really stockpile the Wii Fit for the holidays but if they do, that could be Wii's number 1 game.

Same as everyone else.

Gears 2, then Resistance 2, then some distant 3rd title.

if the PS3 gets a price drop, and/or bundles R2 with it, it has a slight chance of being #1, but probably not even then.

resistance 2? are you guys blind? not everyone loves FPS games, and this game will get everyone (bigger audience group, does not mean everyone as in everyone on this forum)  to buy LBP with the same concept like Nintendo, "get everyone to play". I personally hate shooting games. you play and kill things, then brag about how good you are until the next game comes out, repeat.

Resistance 2 (worldwide, mostly from USA & UK & Aust) - PS3

Gears of War II (worldwide, mostly from USA) - XBox 360

DQVI - DS - (worldwide, mostly from Japan)

PSP - ?

Multiplatofrm - Guitar Hero IV should do 3-5m worldwide...

 

This is assuming all of the above release this year. Haven't checked release dates in a while.
