Forums - Microsoft - Any oldschool Goldeneye substitutes for 360?

It's like a mental overload, there are so many 360 games that have caught my eye that I'm running around in circles trying to decide which ones to get LOL

Dude dont' get perfect dark. The game was an avrage 7/10 game back in 2005...today its not worth playing. The game has a shitty mechanic where you have to shoot a dude 10 times in the body or one headshot...

Halo 3 shouldn't be more than 20 dollars used and it totally rocks. Unlike other high profile shooters (Bioshock, COD4), Halo 3 has 4 player local multiplayer, 16 player local/online multiplayer (with system link locally). And single player rocks as well...

Thanks again disolitude!! You pretty much answered all my questions.  I was looking into Bioshock and COD4 (this one was recommended to me).  I still wanna check out PDZ just because :)

Call of duty 4? Halo?

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

Disolitude forgets how poorly Goldeneye has transition to the next century. PD0 is just as fun as Goldeneye, and uses a very similar formula to the series. The issue with PD0 (score-wise) is that it follows the same formula of no jumping, and so on.

PD0 isn't the be-all-end-all FPS like H3 or COD4 is, but it's a great game. And unlike Halo 3 or COD4, you can play offline multiplayer with bots, as well as local 4player w/ 12 extra bots. It's quite fun.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

PD0 can have up to 32 players, with any amount of empty slots filled in by bots if you choose.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Halo 3, COD 4, R6V 1 & 2, GRAW 1&2, The Orange Box and BioShock. There are quite a few good shooters on the X360.

Perfect Dark Zero, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 3, Far Cry Instincts Predator and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter - all of them support local 4 players multi, but are old 2005/2006 games. You can even play Halo 2 on your 360. I know it is even more old, but it is still fun to play. If you are big Goldeneye fan you can try Perfect Dark Zero.
About Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 - yep they are new and better games, but I'm not 100% sure that both of them support 4 players local and I'm not sure that playing them more then 2 persons on one TV is a good idea. If you can find another 360+TV you can play on System Link (Up to 18 players for Halo 3)
I found that the best game for 4 players on one TV is Dead or Alive 4, but it is not a FPS. Versus Tag Teams mode is real fun.

Eh, I disagree. I don't think PDZ is as terrible as some people make it out to be, and I did enjoy it's singleplayer campaign enough to beat it (and bot matches were a decent addition). But Goldeneye it is not. And yes, I did just recently play Goldeneye on my N64. About a month ago.

If you really want a fun Goldeneye type game, complete with free floating crosshair, try Timesplitters 2. I'm not sure if it is backwards compatible on the XBox360 (they are XBox games), but if it is, definitely give it a shot.

Otherwise Halo 3 is probably your best bet. A lot of other FPS games seem to be missing splitscreen support :-/.

Again if you loved Goldeneye you will enjoy PD0. You can even download some of the old Goldeneye and Perfect Dark Maps. Facility FTW!

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.
