Kingdom Hearts DS ad points to 2008 release in Japan

Do you heart Kingdom Hearts – especially the idea of a new game in the series for Nintendo DS? Then you'll be happy to hear that the Japanese manual for Square Enix's recently released Dragon Quest V remake contains an ad promising a 2008 release for Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days ... in Japan, of course.

Revealed at last year's Tokyo Game Show, the next handheld Kingdom Hearts features a four-player co-op mode and follows the adventures of series protagonist Sora's "Nobody" twin, Roxas (above). Even though the game looks like it's hitting Japan this year, we'll still have to wait out the necessary localization before seeing it Stateside. At least the ad isn't merely a "coming soon" tease like the one for God of War III.

This game doesn't really have voiceovers, right? Isn't it just text, plus a few battle cries? How long could that possibly take to translate?



Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

That would be pretty cool if she was, but I seriously doubt it. I wouldn't be too surprised if she was in KH3, though.

I can't wait for this game. As far as I know, the gameplay will be similar to KH1 and 2, while the PSP version is getting that god awful card battle system. I have no idea why...

(I don't mean to hate on anyone who liked the card battle system in the GBA game, I just never got into it. =P )

I'm looking forward to Birth By Sleep more then this one because of when the games take place.

A prequel 10 years before Kingdom Hearts interests me more then the story of Roxas during the time between Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts 2.
