If you're so global, where are the big Japanese sales? The PS3's sales in Japan are simply pathetic, even the 360 is selling about half the Ps3's sales (a bit less).

Gameboy Color had exactly the same feautres as Gameboy, the same tech, but with color. It just accompanied a new advertising push and more games. But since everything would have worked on Gameboy, and since GBC played Game Boy games its pretty clear it was the same thing. Not including Gameboy Color would be like not including DS Lite or PSP slim. Except for the form factor they are identical to the phat versions.

You guys are all flaming hypocrites if you think these companies delibrately ignore the mass market. Sony would gladly accept the thousands of shit games Wii & DS are getting and are going to get if it would insure that PS3 sold as well as PS2. Sony needs those games, there are reasons why no PS1, PS2, or PSP games have topped 20 million despite hundreds of millions of users - the PS platforms had far less individually defining hits than platfroms from every other company - Atari, Sega, Nintendo, Microsoft - which is why the PS2 library (1000s of games, ~400 that aren't shovelware) needed the 'crap' to survive.

Would significant numbers of people watch TV if it had great content only for an hour a day? Of course not. The same is true for consoles - you need content that appeals to everyone all the time and for a 'global platform' PS3 has alot of holes in its lineup which should be filled by the thousands of horrible games that rival platforms are getting.

Remember: One man's garbage is another's treasure. I would never pay for something like Madden every year, but millions of people do, and others like paying for what you or I consider crap every year because its entertaining to them.
