I haven't heard of that one, and I can't find it online.  Are you talking about Strikers Charged?  If so, how does it handle defending against Mega Strikes,
which is normally handled by pointing at the screen?  It seems like it would take far
quicker motions than an analog stick can handle.

So I'll go ahead and ask what everyone is thinking, why is he excited about getting a Wii?

Waggle and pointing aren't the only selling points for the Wii.  Our small gaming group had a PS2 and a GCN last gen.  As it turned out, the games that appealed most to us happened to be on the GameCube.  Most notably, I got a copy of Strikers last November, and we've been playing the crap out of it since.  So we anticipate the sequel, especially since I've been hearing cool stuff about it from European players.  We
also really like the Mario Kart games, and we've found that the pro wrestling games on the Gamecube were
more fun to play than those on the PS2.  Granted, in that last case, the games are being merged into the same title, so it probably won't matter as much which platform we're playing it on, but the basic gist is
that we had good fortune with the last Nintendo console, so going with the next Nintendo console seems like a safe bet.

But he still doesn't like the idea of giant sweeping motions, and he also doesn't have quite the hand-eye coordination that the others in our group have.   That's why I was happy that the motion controls in Strikers Charged was kept to a minimum.  It'll be a lot easier to get him used to it gradually.  imho

I love the Wii but waggle (I hate that word) and pointing are its selling points. I can't really stop you from buying one but the vast majority of the Wii games are made for motion controls and are going to use motion controls. Developers are actually strongly discouraged to make games that do not use Wii Remote and nunchuck as their primary control scheme so sadly you are going to have a very small library.

naturally my man, everybody who owns a Wii has what ??? right a Wii-mote and a Nunchuck so that is what you have to go for, if it was just a add-on all the devs. could go for old school, but the Wii is about future, so that is where you have to be, everything else is just a GC 1.5 (and I hate those words) so what is your "sadly"all about, if a dev. hates motion he will just have to eather use what he´s got or make the game for another platform, it´s his/her plan not yours

dam all that wotka got me a dubble post, anyway I think that "waggle" (who though of that) is the best thing since the Atari or the Pong and for me those are still historical events, (now where did that wodka go, this must be some kind of editing record)
