Thanks for the review, highwaystar! This is one of my most anticipated games of the year.

When it was announced I hoped it would turn out to be a direct Civ2 or Civ3 port, but as soon as I saw the first previews and videos I sensed it would be a dumped down version with easy access and relatively quick play. Personally I don't care that much about the changes as I prefer to play one of the original Civs on the big screen for the deep experience anyway.

Does someone know when CivRev DS will finally be released in Europe. August 29th, September 9th?

By the way: Can't wait for Civilization IV: Colonization

That is, my favorite way to play is cultural domination. Even if I can't get the culture victory, I often pump culture to the extreme and try to take cities that way, etc. In fact, the fighting is my least favorite part of the game, and I go out of my way to settle wars as quickly as possible.

With only 47 techs and few buildings, according to your review, I am not holding out much hope that this is still possible, BUT I really really hope that I misinterpreted what you wrote, because I really want to get/like the game :-/

Combat isn't neccesary. You can win through Culture, combat, space race, building 20 wonders or obtaining 20,000 gold.
