Walmart sucks also. What about their human rights abuses?

Honestly I do not give a damn. I as a consumer want a better shopping experience and better prices. If you want to have better working conditions for all workers make laws that enforce them for all companies. Don't single out a big company because its fashionable to do this.

Besides Walmart employs TONS of people and many of them could and would be rationalized away if employing them was more expensive. Germany has tough work laws and I am 100% sure that 2 out of three 3 Walmart employees would be on social security here. Which may not be much less money but which is a recipy for social decline and for many people a one-way ticket. So be careful what you enforce also.

Every day that passes I see more and more reason to hate Microsoft.
-First of all, I've been using their OSes since my first PC, and all of them have been buggy (In one PC I've reinstalled Win98 more than 10 times because the PC ran badly). Yet, as I'm an avid PC gamer, I have to use Windows as OS, otherwise I wouldn't be able to play most games. So that means I'm using a system that I don't like just because it's the only one that let's me play the games I want.
-They make Internet Explorer. That reason alone is enough to hate them, how can they make a horrible browser and still have 70%+ marketshare shows how worng is this world.
-Windows Genuine Advantage. This little piece of malware is a pain, it's difficult to remove, and if you're not careful it'll install in your OS
-RROD. I don't have a 360, nor do I want one, but releasing a console with 33% failure rate is simply unacceptable.
In the end, Microsoft makes you buy their products not because they're good, but because the monopoly they've established forces you to use them if you want to, for example, game with the PC. At least I'm proud to say that I've never paid for a Microsoft product.
The day that Microsoft declares bankrupt (hey, I can dream) will be a very happy day for this world

I don't remember saying that Nintendo and Sony didn't. This is a topic about MS not the others so stop putting words in my mouth that ya know I didn't say.

And I don't hate them because they are top dog. Hell if I wanted to hate on the biggest corporations why would I go so low as MS. I'd start talkign about Exxon are Wal-Mart. They make MS look like a baby company. I hate the corporatino for those exact reasons. They are waht really keep the mainstream from advancing in technology because they don't have to respond to the competition anymore. That's why monopolies need to be controlled. I'm just glad Apple is making lead way in the OS market, otherwise MS would never make a more approachable OS.

So you hate the idea corporations? I agree with you there as they are set up so that their only goal is profit regardless of means.

Reminds me of: Corporation: An ingenious device for obtaining profit without individual responsibilty. - Ambrose Bierce

Sorry for the misunderstanding, but when you single out an individual entity, it is to be reasoned that you have reasons for these feelings that are different than other entities of the same class. If I hate American football I'm not going to rant about how I dislike the St. Louis Rams, I'm going to talk about how I dislike American football.

All businesses are out to make money but I just hate the idea that some companies have the ability to throw away billions of dollars to enter in a market at cheaper prices and totally take away the competition.  Thus hurting the consumer in the long run because the only thing that protects the consumer is competition.  MS has done this numerous times and I just don't approve.  I mean it's not good for a business to do it but they do it just to heckle the competition within their own dominant market which I just don't approve.

And the only reason I was only talking about MS and them solely is because the topic is about MS.  It's not about any other company.  I didn't feel I needed to talk about any other considering it's not about them.  I can understand the misunderstanding, but I was simply keeping with the topic.

However, people who hate MS gaming and Xbox division only hate it because it has changed teh gaming industry

I don't really like MS in the gaming world either. I think the 360 and especially its interface is ugly, I hate the "do it as cheap as possible and charge for everything else" approach and I would never buy a product with its failure rate (even if its better now) NEVER. I like shiny, cool quality products and that's the complete opposite of MS. MS is functional with many features but shoddy.

However I love them for bringing many PC developers into the console world. PC games have always been far superior to console games and now all the great PC developers (with the exception of Blizzard) are developing for consoles. And MS played a big part in this. I acknowledge that. They also managed to make a device that's at least almost as good for gaming (however lacking as media center) as the PS3 for much less money and they did this a year earlier. That's cool. And they brought many PC online features like Chat, friends etc. to the console world forcing Sony to come along. That's also cool. The games and the functionality are awesome. Now if they would be the tiniest bit cool I would even have bought a 360 instead of a PS3.

Business is business - and M$ learned how to adapt. My *hate* for a company is really gonna show up in the financial reports. Companies make products and could care less if you buy them or not. I have Vista on my laptop and I like it a lot. I liked XP. I like OSX. I grew up on FORTRAN and reading computer magazines that forced me to program code in order to play a game.

I think M$ is hated on because of success. Folks are quick to say 'They should exit the video game biz' and 'Their OSes suck' but can't for the life of them make something that will dethrone it. And when they do make something that's cooler, slicker, folks hate.

It's like a crab in a bucket filled with crabs. When one tries to climb out, the others pull them back.

Business is business. Successful companies adapt, beg, borrow and steal.

Just like somebody saig on vgc:

They are cyber Che Guevaras. It is just a fad to hate MS. There is no real reason. MS offers great products with great innovations.

Wihout MS there would be no online gaming on consoles so far.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

LMAO!!!

Anyway, I do hate Microsoft, but I love Xbox 360.

I hate them because they are money grubbers. They will try to nickle and dime you for their proprietary whatever, and don't want to let you use universal, cheap things.

This is especially true for their OS and their business strategy in general.

I just dislike the company, but I love the Xbox 360, and their gaming division. I think it is fantastic.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Why do people hate Wal Mart? Same reason.

The difference is that Walmart is awesome and the only decent shopping experience in the North American continent (besides Target). ALL of your supermarkets besides those two suck. So people hating it are stupid hippies.

On the other hand Microsoft has tormented millions of people with the mediocre software you cannot escape so they have earned this wrath. (Which doesn't mean that there was necessarily all the time a superiour alternative to MS)

Walmart sucks also. What about their human rights abuses?

Have you seen Pen & Tellers Bull$%#t on Showtime? The one about walmart? You should watch it. Walmart is awesome. I agree with Pen & Teller. I think most people who hate on Walmart don't know the whole truth. Watch that program.

As for me. Even though Walmart does hire sweatshops(in which they pay the sweatshop workers a real wage, unlike every other sweatshop in the world), Walmart for me is just a convienient, great store, and protesting greatness for something that doesn't even affect me or my evil sensabilities is a little too "hippie free-love protest" for me.

I'm a bit more hard nosed.

Now gamestop, them I hate.

I can honestly understand how someone can hate MS because of RRoD.... But not anything else. I think people have a right to be mad at sony, more or less.
