Forums - Microsoft - Bioware’s Commitment to xbox360 Exclusive Mass effect Trilogy.

A PC is not a console! No duh.

When they talk of exclusivity, their talking about it not being on any other console like the PS3! Its very obvious, any one arguing otherwise is not very smart.  Did you just call naz stupid?

A PC is not a dedicated gamming machine.  By that same token, 360 is not a dedicated gaming machine.  You can watch movies on it, TV shows, Netflix, photo-share, play Primetime shows, etc.  Neither is the PS3 or the Wii by that same idea.

Mass Effect exclusivity means basically, you wont see it on the PS3 or the Wii.  So then it's not exclusive if it's on the 360

Why do people argue about this?  Because we don't like PR Speak, or being lied to.  And because lots of "exclusive" 360 games are also available on PC.

Final Fantasy VII was also on the PC yet people still associate it as a PS exclusive to this day! How did FFVII get into this?

What commitment? Bioware is not launching any exclusive on X360:

Mass Effect 2 is coming to PC. Not exclusive. ever heard of timed exclusivity ? I Guess not

Dragon Age: Origins is PC only. So yes, it's exclusive, but not on X360. wrong

Kotor MMO is PC exclusive. And if EA is smart, it'll stay PC exclusive. You really can keep your KOTOR MMO. Epic fail for every true KOTOR fan.

Actually, KotoR II was epic fail, I still have some hope for the KotoR MMO.

ok it wasn't as good as the 1st one, but I think it's still a very good RPG

The story wasn't bad but it had so many bugs, and they weren't the kind of bugs that littered Mass Effect. No, Mass Effect's bugs at least let you finish the game. The bugs in KotoR II stopped you from progressing so sadly I never got to finish the game.

I forget which world it was on, but I believe it was the mercenary one with the hazard suit. It was the part with the evil wookie and the mercenary chick and after I finished the haz suit section I was supposed to talk to the mercenary chick and I just couldn't. I could find her but she wouldn't say anything because she never got activated. I went back several saves and nothing helped.

That was of course the biggest bug and the one that stopped me from playing because I wasn't going to spend another huge amount of time gettign there just to have potentially happen again but there were also many other small bugs that could stop progress or just cause a lot of gameplay issues.

So yes, KotoR II fails.

Oops I didn't know that. I've completed Kotor on Xbox and Kotor II on PC without those major bugs.

Dudes... So much hate and bias against Mass Effect. Why?
twestern: You 've been whining about the game from the moment it came out
naznatips: your review was ...how can I say it, a point of major disagreements.
I guess you can't stand a guy (like me) who says that the problems were minor and the gaming experience was great! Do you think I am crazy?

@ twestern You didn't finish KOTOR II because of this bug? I guess you were unlucky (I finished it of course), but that doesn't mean it was a fail. It still is one of the best RPGs out there. Epic fail? No way.

I've never called you crazy, nor would I for having a different opinion on ME than myself.  I don't see how its biased to purchase a game and review it.  It's not like I went in the game looking to hate it, and I didn't hate it, I thought it was good, just extremely flawed, which I believe my review proved sufficiently.

Well yeah, I was something like 12 hours into the game and would have to start completely over if I wanted to continue so I said fuck that game, I was through with it.

Read my above post about Mass Effect, there's plenty of justification for the hate.  I can stand a small bug and frame drops here and there but Mass Effect had that crap throughout the entire game.

What're you talking about the PC gaming's state? It's healthier and bigger than ever. After a few "darker" years of PC gaming (which coincided with the beginning of mainstreaming DD services), now PC is in full force and the amount of awesome games coming out for PC proves it. Want proof? Then how about the number AAA titles that available this gen between PC and Consoles:

90% PC games - 17 (14 if you don't count standalone Portal, HL2:Ep.2 and TF2)

90% Console games - 19

Just the fact that PC has almost as much AAA and the entire PS3/360/Wii says something.

Bad comparison sir. Why not look at the past 12 months? For games over 80%:

Wii: 12 (No WiiWare games made the list. Lost Winds at 79%)

PS3: 32 (Includes PSN games. Orange Box + Portal = 1 Game)

Xbox 360: 34 (Includes XBLA games. Orange Box + Portal = 1 Game)

PC: 28 (Includes 5 Sam & Max Episodes, Portal, Orange Box, and any Expansion)

..........

You were saying about the PC being a better gaming platorm, again?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Hopefully they fix the insane amount of problems from the first one to truly make a great game.

Yeah, as I said in my review there were a lot of major issues with Mass Effect... hopefully it's cleaned up a lot before ME2.

I've been playing through it again and, ugh, I had actually forgotten how bad they are.  There's the LOD texture popping, funky shadows everywhere, characters getting stuck, characters randomly walking on top of things, terrible frame rate, bad lighting problems, and the list just goes on.

I guess I can at least say I've never encountered a gamestopping bug.

You would have thought that it would be good enough so that your armour's texture does not load instantly. Characters have only got stuck once or twice for me, but it does hurt your eyes at some points....
