The Xbox 360 will definetly outsell the Xbox by millions.
Microsoft will probably hold on to it longer too.

Nvidia did not stop manufacturing graphics cards. Microsoft did not want to stick to the original contract because the Xbox was not selling like they planned. Nvidia threaten to take them to court but Microsoft decided to settle.

The original Xbox has much more aggressive price dropping. The 360 has a long way to go, assuming MS is willing to set profitability aside again.
Well, your numbers aren't totally correct, as you're comparing different time frames.
I'll do it another way.
Xbox original
2001: 1.7M (not a full year)
2002: 5.7M
2003: 5.8M
2004: 7.0M
2005: 3.8M
2006: 750K
Xbox 360.
2005: 1.3M (not a full year)
2006: 6.9M
2007: 8.1M (first half sales: 2.5M
2008 first half: 3.76M
What you see here, is that in 2006, the 360 sold 21% more than the original's 2002 sales. In 2007, the 360 increased by about 13%, and sold 40% more than the original did in 2002.
In 2008, the 360 is tracking to sell 40-50% more than it did in 2007, meaning that it should sell 10-12M. This would mean that the 360's 2008 will sell around 50% more than the XB did in its peak year.
In 2009, the 360 could very well see a 100% increase over the original's 2005.

Chart is wrong, inaccurate, who know what. The Xbox 360 sales as of today are virtually identical to the sales of the first Xbox.
Actually it's not according to May NPD the 360 is selling at 20% faster rate than the original xbox at a much higher price differential.
Two in the UK, the 360 has already passed the original in less time and at different price points per Chart Track.
Learn to look up the facts before spouting non-sense.

It's just not that difficult to understand. We are talking about worldwide sales over the same time period.
The Xbox sold 24 million worldwide in 44 months on the market.
The Xbox 360 has sold 19.5 million worldwide in 33 months on the market.
Some people shouldn't make topics...you belong on that list.
First of all xbox 1 stopped manufacturing on in May 2006. Do your math again with that date.
Second of all, they sold xbox 1 well after that so they got more sales that way.
