Forums - Gaming - N'Gai wrong. RE5 staff does include black people.

I am offended. I can't believe he would be so arrogant as to assume he can use a trailer to determine who's on a development team. Oh, and I don't quite agree on the racial angle, too.

Res 5 Producer Tries To Close The Book On Racism Claims

My actual take on the racial angle is more against the blog that started it. It tends to have that kind of tone with every story, and only rarely has a link to source their stories. Let me repeat that. The blog that started the uproar about racism in RE5 almost never cites sources for its stories. That sounds like yellow journalism to me.

Some people might see the trailers and get the wrong impression if they don't know the series, but that trailer was for core gamers. It wasn't put on TV. Those would likely be done properly, by people who know the market they are selling to (unless they are in Europe and their client is Sony ).

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

You kill Europeans in RE4, were there racist claims when that game was revealed? I guess it's a whole different story with blacks ...

Not taking sides (as I state every time I post in one of the RE5 racism threads):

Just because black people are involved in creating it doesn't make it not racist.

That's like saying Chris Rock or Dave Chappelle aren't racists. They are, that is why they are poignant and funny.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

When I go on killing rampages, I always make sure I include people of every race.

"To answer the question that was posted on your blog, there are black members in the development team. We do have staff working on the game, who are aware of the historical background and we are constantly checking these kinds of things with them."

This comment bothers me more.  Because, you know, a small group of developers represent the feelings of a population of a continent and race of people.

Choice of wording and such are what reveal the true understading and sensitivity people have.

That being said, it's a game.  If you are a poor African villager who thinks this game is racist then don't buy it.

I really hate it when people get offended by the smallest of things whichare completely irrelevent to racism. It just forms more boundaries between races and segregates them from eachother. If anyone who thought this was racist was here next to me, i would actualy slap them.

it's funny, i feel as though when people pick at straws about things that could relate to racial issues, they are in fact the ones being racist, as they are making nothing out to be a big deal just because of the colour of anothers skin

The sad thing about this is that the end result will most likely only mean more white zombies running around in the African villages and cities where RE5 takes place and a more politically correct final script.

A person who is violent towards another is worse than an accuser or a racist.

If I got attacked by zombies I think the colour of it's skin would be the last thing on my mind.
