Forums - Sales - LOL!!! Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the new World doesn't sell?!?! (false)

I think the legs of this game will carry it to the 300k mark. Does anyone here know if this game is actually better than the first?

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

you do have a point about bigger installbase but remember this:

Nintendo is in the 'bridge' stage (mario super sluggers, MKWii) thus...trying to bridge the 'casual' gamers to 'core' games...making them core gamers

so maybe not now..but in lifetime sales it might sell ore than ToS...and it's not even World Wide yet

It is suppose to be weaker than the first Symphonia but still decent

It got a average review from Famitsu, after they gave the first stellar scores. Most are saying that the second just isn't as good as the first.

Well that is probably because its a spinoff rather than a full blown sequel.  I guess people just call it ToS 2.  Also Famisu gave it a 31 while they gave ToS a 34. Not too much of a difference you guys are making it out to be. Once I play the game I will decide which is better, and to what extent.

Edit: 31/40 = 77.5, 34/40=85. The difference is pretty big, but 77.5 isn't considered "average" in my book. I would say average would be around 70.

ToS2 will probably not be as awesome as ToS...I mean..: it IS a spinoff (doesn't revolve around the first set of characters)

ToS was my first RPG in wich I could play multiplayer and directly control my character.(that was one of the things that wowed me) it got me interested in the other tales games

so ToS2 won't be as good...unless it has awesome surprises in store

Famitsu gave Tales of Destiny the same score (a 31) yet that's my second favorite Tales. Goes to show reviews don't really matter. Besides, Famitsu bases their reviews on what the community wants anyway...

But the only ones hating on sales are the Sony/MS fanboys anyway. Especially Sony fanboys seeing as how the rumored PS3 Tales turned out to be false and a new Wii Tales got announced. Also because they don't want the Wii to be the "RPG" console.

Also, it sold 11k (Well, GOING to sell according to TheSource) this week and sold 11k last week so it might have some good legs...

You really think that's the only reason Soriku?  It has nothing to do with the expectations of people on this board that ToS2 would sell 200k in it's first week?  So perhaps people are ragging on the game because it did not meet the expectations that were set forth for it by such people as......well......you.

People assumed it was going to do better than the original due to the success of the Wii, it started out slow and now yer taking some heat.  But no....it can't be due to the game not meeting expectations.....it must be jealousy......yer totally right.

...

The original ToS had disappointing sales in Japan compared to the older main Tales on consoles and ToL, TotA. ToS2 is a direct sequel of ToS, but it was developed as being part of the main series, unlike TotW and ToF for instance. Therefore, it´s sales are disappointing, but compared to the original it´s not.
