This right here is why I don't understand the apprehension by some.  If Starcraft bones it up he won't be a contributor, done and done.  Personally I expect him to do fine.  Reporting the news is just time consuming, and requires almost none of your own input.  I'll be interested to see what comes of any editorial, if he cares to write one.

edit: and just to be clear....if he totally boned up the editorial, you guys probably wouldn't see it anyway....since we screen those internally.

Congrats to both!! Remember Starcraft is bringing us 360 news not news that has to deal with Sony vs 360 or anything like that. Im sure he will be a great contributor. He has certainly shown, whether you agree with what he writes or not, that he is a talented writer.

I think you deserve it both!
I didn't know much about Machina, but I remember his " I bought a 360 with some games- my impressions " article, and it had a lot of effort and objectivity.
Nice.

Starcraft, I know there is a lot of jealousy out there dude, but there are also people who are really satisfied with your writing. No matter what the "general" idea is, I never really thought that you spammed or trolled consciously. Keep the news coming mate!
Oh, and I'm still waiting to see certain persons posting their congrats. And, guys, the "congrats to the one guy, who is the other one?" style, is LAME!

I think its been proved hundreds of times that you can't. Unfourtunately the same goes for Microsoft news, except the bias is the other way around.

Is it really necessary to have a go?  Like I said, you won't see much from me if I display anything more than a natural level of bias.  If you don't appreciate whatever news I end up posting, simply avoid it.
