As good as Guitar Hero: World Tour seems to be shaping up, does anyone think it might have a shot at a GOTY nomination?

Metal Gear Solid 4 or Spore, obviously.

There is a slight chance of GTAIV or LittleBigPlanet, but I doubt it.

I was right last year with saying Super Mario Galaxy would get the majority of Game of the Year awards...

Gears of war 2.

No. While it is adding some cool features to the genre, at heart it's still a Rock Band clone.

MGS4 will probably take it, though GoW2, Fable 2 and LBP look pretty damn good.

Brawl of course.

Probably Gears of War 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, or Grand Theft Auto 4.

Not to troll, and you can yell at me for not doing my research, but could someone explain to me why Gears of War 2 would get anywhere near Game of the Year? To me it just looks like more enemies, more features, improved combat, and slightly improved graphics. Seems extremely derivative, not anything "OMG special" GOTY material.

I think Spore will get the most praise, and Left 4 Dead will be my GOTY.  Brawl deserves praise but it'll keep getting shot down ultimately because of the online system.

No, you're pretty much right. The game doesn't look to do that much more than the original. Unless Epic really does something spectacular with the story *laughs hysterically*, I don't think it will be worthy of GotY.
