Yeah, this game is awesome. I played it loads back when I was a kid. Replayed part of it recently. It's really a great game.

The best Metroid game, ever. I still play it, every now and then. I'd really like another 2D Metroid on the DS or Wiiware.

i do kinda like this game, but i got frustrated t this one part where you have to keep making perfectly timed little jumps to get over that long section of floor that disipear when you get on them, with the spikes right over you.

do i just suck. i tried for about an hour to get past, but failed.

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=47568

Ok, So I put in another couple of hours today.

First off, I completely forgot that unlike the 1st metroid the energy tanks of this game are a full two rows! I only had half when I said I had them all above.

Well, I've gotten 3 more tanks (5 left) and 2 more reserves (1 left). A bunch of missiles and bombs etc. I have also gotten the spring ball and walked through about 2/3rds of Miridia and all I have left in Norfair is to beat Ridley. I need something to walk in lava, I think. idk, I'll figure it out after I finish of the boss and last couple of items in Miridia.

Should have no problem finishing it tomorrow night. Still a fantastic game, however, I think I figured out where all the backtracking originated. Damn sure is a lot more here that there was in the original. I never played Metroid II on the GB, was it the same or more like the original Metroid?

Is more like the original, as far as I can remember, but if you are patient enough you will be able to play the HomeMade Remake...

By me:

Made with Blender + LuxRender
"Since you can´t understand ... there is no point to taking you seriously."

Virtual Console FTW.

I have gifted this game to two people so far. So all told I have bought it four times. And I'm sure I'll buy it again.

Now would they just please release a proper sequel already.

I've never gotten 100% completion, and I still know where my cartridge for the game is. SNES itself, less so.

Also, watch the gameplay video at the beginning when you load the game and wait. Shows you some neat tricks that sometimes are rather useful.

awesome...cuz a few months ago was the first time I played this game (finished Zero mission and Fusion and MP1)

man...the game felt as new as the other GBA games..I ...didn't finish it...my cousin wanted back his SNES...he left for NL.

I need to go buy it on the VC soon

Run. That's all you need to do. Jump up and just run, you will be slightly quick enough to avoid falling and since you never jump the spikes won't hurt you.

It sounds to me like you are at the place where you get the Wave Beam (but I could be wrong).  In general the game won't have you do anything that is terribly difficult...unless you shouldn't be there yet.  So don't think of this game as one where you have to get through every room.  It isn't linear and if it seems you can't through a spot you probably don't have the right ability.

But the joy of this game is that you can collect items in whatever order you want...if you have the skills.

Learn wall jumping as soon as possible.

I'm playing it, thanks to Super_Etecoon, but I haven't played it in like two weeks.
