I wonder what will happen when someone re-creates a level that costs money and puts it out for free.

Generally though, I don't think this is a good idea, and could ruin one of my favorite aspects of this game. I liked the fact that this could basically be an unlimited game with the ability to always go download new levels, but I don't like that now there is a good chance that the best UC will cost money.

I think the map would just be deleted by a mod at some point. They are looking out for the "bad" things already.

And you have to remember, you wont have to pay for the cream of the crop, but only a small part of it. Users have to make a bunch of good maps to qualify for the option of charging for their map. And I don't think they can go back and charge for old maps, that would seem weird anyway.

i think this is a good thing, you have to create alot of free really good levels before you're allowed to charge for a new one. Meaning this will force greedy players into making alot of good free levels instead of crap, and when they charge for one of their levels simply ignore it.

This was discussed ad nauseum already.

Some people think it's good, others not so much.

I'm a big fan of free, so less pay = better

Unfortunately I guess I'll just have to pass on levels that cost money. Not interested since I already get a complete game plus free levels from the community.

Well if Sony/MM have to approve it to cost money, then that is more fair, though of course it does mean that you miss out on the best content if you dont want to pay

munkeh111 indeed but you have to make some really good, free levels in order to be approved.

I really hope that is the case.  It may just be the choice of words used to describe this that gives me a bad feeling, "iTunes meets e-bay" doesn't convey the sense of lots of free content.  In any case, the game is still a day one purchase for me.

Currently Playing:  Saints Row 2 | Battlefield 2 | Company of Heroes

Recently Beaten: Gears of War | Super Mario Galaxy | Darwinia | MGS4 | Sam and Max Ep. 4, Portal | Mirror's Edge | Uncharted | Mass Effect

Looking Forward to: Alan Wake | Splinter Cell : Conviction | The Last Guardian | Batman: Arkham Asylum | SMG2 | Mass Effect 2 |

and in one announcement sony killed my hype for the only game on their system that could have gotten me to buy their product.

microtransactions ftl.

^ yeah right, i dont think you were planning to buy this game at all.
