360 pad can run for a long time even with 2 bars, but yest flashing light usually means time to swap out those batteries.

Yeh the controller is just giving you ample heads up when your battery is getting low. It happens around 2 bars or so. If you have a battery charger just play with it in if you don't mind being halfway close to the TV.

It died, so I just put in a new battery, everything is fine, and the flashing has stopped, so it was just battery. It is a bit annoying that there is not warning that pops up on screen when it does that, because I had no idea what was wrong

I had that happen before but it was because I took the controller apart to put on a new shell. I srcewed the shell on too tight and the light kept blinking.
