im not talkin about the 20 gig 50$ pricecut i mean all models this year

i personally think ther will be a 50$ pricecut for all models when gears2 comes out but what do you guys think

It depends on 360/PS3 sales and PS3 price cuts.

Probably for the premium/pro version since that's the main SKU for the XBOX360. I thought during the conference that the core SKU was being phased out and that the Elite would stay where it is.

i think ms will watch market and if ps3 keeps outselling xbox 360 in the us with numbers that are bigger than statistcal errors, then they will have to do something, and a price cut is one of the possible things.
If they can keep up with sales and/or beat the ps3 sales without a pricecut then i am unsure if a cut will happen this year.

I think there will be this year. MS looks to be following a little in what worked so well for sony last year with a sale on the 20gig then introducing a new 60 gig both of which will boost sales to carry them over till around Nov and then a price cut on all models like last time. It looks like sony will probably not cut prices this year as the introduction of the new model will boost sales and they really want a profit this year and since sales are up they will only cut price when sales start to slow or they can cut costs more.

I think they will drop the price. But only by $50 at most. Microsoft have been extremely conservative in regards to price-cuts this gen and its lead to 3 profitable quarters. This strategy will remain. Game like gears 2 and fable 2 will help to sell a lot of 360's this christmas, but if they fuel this further with a price-cut they'll be able to have massive holiday sales.

I'd say "yes". Just in time for Gears 2 launch.
