^ I think that single moment changed my gaming forever. After that I tend to expect it when creatures come out of "nowhere" DOOM III was too predictable for me.

Oh oh,. and I forgot to mention, when I was little the Opening for Metroid was pretty creepy, and eerily cool!

Silent Hill 1, was pretty scary for its time

Bioshock - Has it's moments when things just jump out and scare the crap out of you

The Condemned - Scared the crap out of me

Resident Evil games have their moments where bosses just freak you out (Guy who chases you in 4 really fucked with my mind)

Clock Tower games - 1 scared the shit out of me

Halo levels with the Flood comming to earth and infecting everything, not so much scary, but freaks you out.

The list goes on!

IMO any Mario game... what ? Plumbers scare me.

Doom (might have been doom 2) with the Aliens map package. The whole first level you just hear noises, and every now and then a tail dissappears arounc a corner in fron of you...you run ahead to catch it..and there is nothing there. You hear your teammates radio calls, but can't find them. By the time you DO see something on the 2nd level, it scares the living crap out of you. PLay with headphones in the basememt for the full effect!

Haven't been that immersed in an environment since.

Partially due to teh Crackage and also i have issues with strangers fiddling with my pipes. That is unless that plumbers name is Jessica Alba O_o

Silent Hill 2 is the only game that scared me. Not that I've played that many survival-horrors, but still...

Arkanoid, christ that game was scary... Almost as scary as Mappy
