Forums - Gaming - I think I would prefer FF7 go to the PS3...6 too.

Yeah, simply saying waggle CAN be used doesn't mean that beats getting something that looks like you're playing Advent Children. Hell you can throw waggle into anything, that doesn't improve it, many would say it does just the opposite.

Like Torillian said, with FPS the wii makes a marked improvement over the dual analogue set up in precision, speed and ease of use. But waggling instead of pressing X to attack? I fail to see the upgrade.

but how does waving the wiimote equate to being better than pushing a button?

For an FPS the new found accuracy and speed is undeniable....but for an RPG?

IT doesn't have to be just waving. The IR allows for control over menus.  Also if anybody has played LoZ Tp on the wii and played previous titles, you see that it is an alternative, but it feels much more immersive. There are some ds rpgs that are using the touch interface to use attacks, why can't the same be done for the WII''s ir or motion. I''m sure there are many more things  that could be done. Nobody thought the DS would add to rpgs, but it has.

Are graphics all people care about these days? Seriously. It would benefit from the graphics but all it would do is push up the development costs. Making it for the DS (or heck, the Wii, but I doubt it because SE are in bed with the DS) would be MUCH more profitable than making it on the PS3.

I understand vagabond wants it on the PS3 and isn't a sales junky...but you have to look at the fact that SE won't likely make it.

But that's what dreaming's for...right? :P

Profit is what Square Enix cares about. The gamer cares about the end result.

And to be honest, I see fanboys from all three sides praising good graphics. They've been important in every generation since the NES. Hell, there's even an old NES commercial where a kid is talking about how "sweet" the graphics for Zelda are. It's not a crime to appreciate good graphics.

When it comes down to probability or profit, the gamer doesn't care.

I already said FFVII will benefit more from the ps3. I'm saying that the wii could add alot to Action-Rpgs, and Turn Based rpgs that are built specifically for it.

clearly, most development houses don't mind investing tremendous amounts of money for their grandest projects. If they did the 360 and PS3 would've had nothing new announced all year, and all production would halt immidiately in favor of wii. And yet...

Is anyone else having problems with this thread? It's starting to get a bit screwy on my end...

We are already seeing some Japanese companies like Namco moving toward the wii. While the ps360 get alot of support from Japan now, I don't see that in the future. The support right now for both consoles seems slightly in the ps360s favor, but atTGS I could see this changing.

So how exactly would these games benefit from being on wii? As a gamer, not a sales junky.

The game is not a turnbased rpg. Its an action one, which allows for motion controls to be implemented in combat easier. Oh and for turnbased rpgs, if they are built around the wii mote then they could use things like gestures for an attack. Or some rpgs like eternal sonata that incorporate action in turnbased battles. There are plenty of ways the wii could benefit rpgs.

Turn based RPGs should not have motion based gestures.

They should take advantage of the Wii's pointer functionality aand design the menus around it. This would eliminate the cumbersome loads of menus based around crosspad input. It wouldn't revolutionize the genre, but it would make it a whole lot more accessible for some people.

@Vaga

It still doesn't make sense. We gamers care about the end result...but when the company doesn't really care then why bother pushing the idea? Like I said, a FF VI remake on the DS would benefit SE more than a FF VI remake on the PS3. Besides, it would take too long to make it on the PS3 and the DS would be faster, cheaper, and more profitable anyway.

Edit: Thread broke lol.

Because we're gamers and that's what we want.  Wouldn't all tales of games probably do better if put on the DS?  But do you want that?
