why is everyone saying the sales are so bad. 500k is a good starting point. It should comfortably break 750k and possibly 1m in its lifetime. It does not strike me as a game that would need THAT many sales to be profitable.

It'll be a cold day in hell before that happens.

LOL. So the high reviews=medicore?
I played this game over friend's house. I wouldn't buy it if it's on the PS3....
Ninja fighting alien zombies with bazooka really gave me a wtf.
Ninja is supposed to be the stealth assassin / spy, not some kind of alien killing machine...
Tenchu series is much better IMO.

You speak like someone who hasn't played Tenchu since the PSOne. Tenchu took a nosedive years ago and cracked it's head on the bottom of the pool. The lifeguards jumped in to save it, but there was irreparable braind damage which caused Tenchu Z.
I have a feeling with Itagaki gone from Tecmo, there will be changes on where the games go. I fully expect the next Dead or Alive to be a shallow attempt with him gone and a multiplatform release on 360 and PS3. I also don't expect to see anymore volleyball DOA games. Ninja Gaiden is something Microsoft may pay to keep, but we're years away from a new one anyways I'm sure. DOA 5 is definitely coming first.
| NeoRatt said: Since Itakagi left Tecmo it probably will change substantially. But, I doubt any NG II would go multi-platform becuase it was published by Microsoft. But then again Vampire Rain is going multi-platform and it was published by Microsoft. (I think that is a much different situation though... The game stunk)... |
Woah? He left Tecmo?
would anyone go as far to say that team ninja is overrated?
The game wasn't nearly as hard as i had expected it to be.

Overrated? Probably. But it's still one of the best action game series. Sure beats God of War and Devil May Cry.
I'd probably get Ninja Gaiden 2 if it were released for the PS3. From what I've played of it, it's not as good as Ninja Gaiden 1, but it was still fun.
