Eurogamer recently had a chat with SCEE's David Reeves, and during the discussion he stated that:

Personally, I would've pegged both God of War 3 and MAG for Holiday '09, with GoW3 making it out right on time and MAG getting delayed to early 2010 because of the extensive network testing required for such a massive undertaking.

My first thought after reading this statement was that the date was nothing more than a BS placeholder date, but then why not also say that God of War 3 is targeted for Spring 2009?  Or why not just give a general "2009" date for both?  This got me thinking that there may be some truth to it afterall.

Of course, listing it along with InFamous implies that the game is as far along in development as InFamous.  And given the fact that Zipper hasn't worked on anything since a PSP game that released in 2006, much like Guerrilla Games, it's not unreasonable to believe that MAG could make it out in the first half of 2009, much like Killzone 2.

i doubt it,it will most likely get delayed

Considering their team is big enough to work on two games at a time ( Socom 3/Fireteam Bravo, Combined Assault/FB2), and their last games came out November '06, I can see MAG maybe being out first half of '09.

actually the SCE president said GOW III for 2009 line up.I m sure it will come out in 2009 but it might come out in holidays ratehr than march,,,becuse KZ2 is almost coming out in march(feb 28)and residetn evil on march 18 so that would be 3 big titles on PS3 in a month which will not happen.so GOW will be out end of the year.

Can MAG be ready by then? I mean this is unprecedented in console gaming. Seems like it take a lot more time for that ya know.

Sony Santa Monica are a great dev team that aren't known for delays.  Given the fact that it only took them two years to make GoWII, and given the fact that they started GoWIII before finishing GoWII, which tells us that GoWIII is already over a year and half into it's development cycle, then a Holiday '09 release isn't unreasonable at all.  It would give the game a little more than 3 years of development time, much like Killzone 2 and others.

OH NOEZ Naznatips and Soriku have given out the release date for GoWIII.

MAG can release later in 09, but GOW 3 the sooner the better, I've been waiting to finish the fight
