The Wii gives a more complete shooter experience because it has a different control scheme? It's motion sensitivity, not virtual reality.

Just calling them as I sees it. I mean I'm not that big of a shooter fan. I buy 4-5 for each console I have. Wii has so few so I only have 3... probably only 3 out there. Why do I have all 3? Because the experience is so much more enthralling with wiimote control. It's just better. Because of the control setup for Wii shooter, imo, gives a better experience. You don't have to agree, just my opinion.

Still...it's a lot better and accurate than an analog stick. |
It has more of a chance for that than FPS.

I agree with your opinion, shooter games are very fun on the Wii. But you are missing out on a few Wii shooters:
House of the Dead
Medal of Honor (which you said you owned)
Ghost Squad (the arcade game is crap but if you really like Wii shooters...)
Red Steel
Call of Duty 3
Not all good games, but there's a decent sized library.
But my favorite thing about Wiimote control is the separation it gives for talent between people. I mean in dual analog control I mean there isn't a lot of separation in how well someone can shoot. I mean simply because with a lot of practice and whatnot anybody can be pretty good in it.
However in Wiimote shooters, such as MOHH2, because the accuracy is so pinpoint on you are only as good as your reaction times and aim. It really puts a huge separation on who is the best shooter. And I like that. It's a much better feeling to know when you win a match because you really do feel you were the best shot. You can't get that through dual analog due to it not being about those things. That's another thing I like about it.

Well I was speaking about MOHH2, Red Steel, and Call of Duty 3( the most underrated wiimote controls for a shooter ever... I liked them alot).
I don't have House of Dead or Ghost Squad, but I have RE:UC.
Well I was actually thinking about that very same thing today.
Also I totally agree with Zucas that Wii's already the ultimate console for shooters, the only thing lacking is the games. :p
Seriously, the controls are infinitely better on Wii. It's really laughable that almost all major titles on the HD consoles are shooters, and everybody's praising them and saying how awesome they are, while in fact, the controls are totally and utterly clunky, old-fashioned and downright robotic compared to the experience possible on Wii.
Having played Metroid Prime 3, I went back to Timesplitters on the Gamecube the other day (widely acknowledged as one of the great console shooters of last generation), and was absolutely SHOCKED by how unresponsive, slow and forced the controls felt. Totally unnatural. Honestly, back in the day, before Wii existed I used to thoroughly enjoy that game, completed it on more than one occasion and had a blast with the multiplayer sessions. But now. Man. Truly, you don't know the value of something until it's gone. Going back to (dual) analog stick controls after having tasted the utter and bewildering freedom, fluidity and ease the Wiimote offers... it's impossible.
First person shooters really hold the most potential for Wii games right now. There are virtually none on the machine right now, bar MOH and COD which were a great step in the right direction, and MP3 which is basically an adventure game. The Conduit is a must-buy for me. I'm really looking forward to it.
And I totally agree that if the game does turn out to be all it's made out to be, and more important still, sell tons, that could very well be the beginning of more high-quality FP shooters on Wii. But it NEEDS to sell a lot. Otherwise other 3rd parties are just gonna go 'Meh, see? There's no audience for that on Wii', and will just go back to crapping out uninspired waggle-fests. Sad but true. I honestly hope The Conduit will go on to sell at least a million, but to make a truly big splash several million would be terrific. I for one will keep my fingers crossed, it's high time this horrendous 3rd party tidal wave of crap comes to an end.

Anyone's who's played Metroid (or better yet, Medal of Honor Heroes 2) can already tell you that the Wii's control scheme is infinitely better for FPSs than the dual analogue system. The question is, will developers start to act accordingly? If The Conduit does well enough they may well, but don't expect to see those games for a while yet.
Light gun games, on the other hand, are probably going to start pouring in soon (relatively speaking: it's not exactly a popular genre right now).
I'll also add that MoH already has a pretty good 32 player online system, so we already know it can be done.
I think most people acknowledge the control scheme to be better, and if they don't they try and they'll be a believer haha. It's just we need a game to show them that the shooters they get there can be done here and why it'll be a better experience.
Especially online aspect because it's so much more of a competitive feeling. I mean its hard to describe it but you feel more accomplished after every kill ya get when playing MOHH2 online. And as I said earlier because the controls are so realistic to actual shooting it really separates player levels of who's really good and who really isn't which I think is ever better. Instead of like dual analog which really the only separation is knoweldge of levels and strategy, Wiimote shooters have it where it's that and you still have to be the better shot. Just a better expereince online in my opinion because of that. You just really do feel like your the best because of it because you are only as good as your aim and reaction time.
Coming from a heavy PC FPS gamer that was one appeal that got me to get the wii. I was loving the controller with the potential of be amazing FPS controls. I hate the xbox/ps controllers for FPS. Wii controller feels the best coming from a PC stand point. Though wii does need more fps support.
