No Can't really argue with Miyamoto, he does have a good point. As long as the core games do come out I dont really mind, although how long does it take to announce a couple of core games... The conference could have been nearly all casual, just take out the 10 minutes spent on graphs and patting yourself on the back, and announce some core games.

I don't know why this is surprising. He's right. This is mainstream event. Thus you show off your mainstream titles. Both Sony and MS are doing the same thing. I mean MS spent 40-50 mins this year of their conference showing off nothing but casual things. Sony spent at least 30 mins doing the same.

Due to this even getting so much press, its best to show off what the mainstream will want to hear. And right now that's things like Wii Music and Wii Sports Resort. Doesn't mean they still couldn't show off mainstream core games like AC and what not but it's just the nature of the event.

Now I don't understand why they could show off more of their mainstream brands such as Zelda and Mario and whatnot but maybe they simply weren't ready to show off. I mean they aren't like Sony and MS that if they aren't ready they'll just make some cheap CGI video and say yea be hyped for something that isn't real yet. But once again mainstream events will show off what they believe will tap into the mainstream, and that's the Wii series which is why it got attention.

I call absolute bullshit ;/ Miyamoto and all.

E3 and the multi-media... sigh... I don't think I know a SINGLE non-core gamer that even knows what the hell an "E3" is. It's the core gamers that watch the live streams, that read up on the internet, that click the refresh button every 3 seconds to see what's announced. Not your kid sister, not your grandmother, not "the rest of the world outside of the core".
