Forums - Nintendo - Miyamoto: E3 is NOT for Core games

Broncos nailed it :o

Only way non hardcore gaming fans will hear about games is through commercials or a big event like E3, while we go to sites like these to find the latest news.

I dk, Myamoto is right but he shouldn't have made Wii music

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Nintendo Fans:

"Wait for E3, games, FTW!", "Wait for their conference after E3, games, FTW", " Wait until TGS"

does this mean we can expect core game announcements soon?

Thanks for posting that.. Its interesting that MSNBC asked the question about core/casual games at the very start of the interview and Miyamoto went into far more detail about the decision to show casual games about E3 then he has before. To me, that shows that Nintendo has gotten the message from the overwhelmingly negative response to its E3 conference.

Why show your major upcomming titles and core/hardcore announcements right next to the competitions and risk having them mitigated by comparison? Nintendo is simply doing what it has beend doing since this generation began, they're picking and choosing their battle field.

Yeah well 2 things, Leave it to a serious journalist to ask questions that get answers, no offense. But more importantly is this feeding ammunition to the "legend of casual games", that pisses me off. I really think Nintendo above anyone is actually still trying to attract kids to these games. This is a good thing considering how old i was when i started

at least they don't have to wait until 2010

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit
