Forums - Gaming - Casual is out. Hardcore is in.

Following the aftermath of E3, in just a matter of days it seems like the entire positive buzz of casual gaming has gone down the toilet, and suddenly people are begging for more, well, proper games.

Is this just a fad, or are we going to see a real backlash against casual gaming?

With how many huge "Hardcore" games that have been released in the past 6 to 9 months, most of the complaints come from whiny gamers who have entitlement issues.

Nothing has changed. "Hardcore gamers" on internet forums hate casual gaming, the rest of the world loves it.

Well the only people who watch E3 are hardcore, so it was to be expected. The 'casual' gamer will still buy them.

I sure hope for a backlash against casual games!

Casual gamers are not forever. Hardcore are.

Yes, because without them a lot less games would sell and then the industry wouldn't do as well and then we'd get next to nothing. Sounds like a good run-on sentence to me.

Um ... "Casual" gaming has existed a lot longer that what we now consider "Hard-Core" ...

If someone came up with PacMan, Pong, Space Invaders, Asteroids or pretty much any game made before the Saturn, Playstation or N64 were released it would be discounted as "Casual" gaming by the Snobcore.
